I ordered the brisket tacos which were very delicious (sober). For drinks, I had a whiskey sour but it twisted my face because it had too much juice in it. They made up for it by making me a Jack & Coke instead after I let the bartender know I wasn’t going to be able to drink it. Overall, I’d say the place is a 3.8/5 so I gave it 4 stars.

Enjoyed this place. Aliha, Heather and crew are on point, yes 20% service charge added. You can add a tip if you’d like. I was happy to do so it was well deserved. The brisket is top-notch. The owner literally puts his phone number out there. I will definitely be back when in the RVA.

I went looking for a bar that had some dart boards to play on. This bar was the first that I stopped at, the bar tender was good and the food was typical dive bar food, adequate, nothing special. The dart boards are free to use bristle boards but there were in very bad shape. They need replacing for sure, only about 60% of my throws stayed in the boards

Really wanted to like this place for the name alone, but there wasn’t anything redeemable about my visit.
Went in on a slow night (maybe 5 or 6 customers max). Ordered a drink and asked for menu. Got both of those relatively quickly, but following that exchange, the bartender chatted on the opposite end of the bar for roughly 30 minutes. Staff was not attentive and did not return to check in on us until 5-10 minutes after we’d finished our drinks. Fairly dissatisfied with the lack of service, we went to another restaurant for food and drinks.
As a former food service employee, I always tip and believe tip based employees should make a living wage, but the 20 percent service charge seems to have removed any sense of urgency or motivation for the wait staff to do their job. Considering it wasn’t a weekend, the staff working may not have been their best, but they were bad enough I don’t plan on returning to give Benny’s a second try.

Bennys has been my place for over 10 years. The food gets better and better and i fine myself looking forward to Mondays to find out the weekly specials lol Benny’s is gone and the bartenders are family! It doesn’t matter if it’s your first time or your 100th time, you’re treated like family as soon as you walk through the door, which is what keeps us coming back! Great drinks, great food, great bartenders and great music! Anna, Vanessa, Heather, Erick, Terreessa, and Courtney are my friends for life!
