Great food and a very reasonable price. Especially in the 55 and over menu. Great service. Every employee had a smile and very attentive. The banana split was yummy. So was the salmon and red mashed potatoes… Mmmmmm. Very home cooking type of selections. Tasty not overly spicy. I would recommend it highly… Yummy. Estava sabroso… Very family oriented.. I’m sure the kids will love it too!!!

EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING AND DELICIOUS AND JANET LITERALLY WAS THE BEST WAITRESS IVE HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!! She literally makes you feel like Dolly Parton is inviting you into her own home and is eating with you shes so amazing and gives amazing recommendations. The cheeseburger nachoes were EXQUISITE OH MY GOD BETTER THAN IN N OUT ANIMAL FRIES X10. The turkey club was so fresh and yummy and perfectly toasted and i stole a bite of my boyfriends chicken fried steak and it was seasoned so well, the potatoes melt in your mouth, and the mac n cheese was nice and gooey. Also the root beer floats were FIREEEEEEEE and Janet kept bringing us refills before we even asked love her lots!!! Will be a staple restaurant whenever we are in big bear!

I’ve been to Benny’s Family Restaurant twice once for breakfast and once in the evening for coffee to-go.
The breakfast was classic and satisfying, and the service both times was great.
Janet, who was working in the evening, was especially friendly and welcoming 🙂
It does get really busy during breakfast and lunch hours, and parking can be tricky, but that just shows how popular this place is.

Delicious food, we all got different plates and the portions were big enough. All food looked fresh and homemade like, different from a chain restaurant for sure. Our server was friendly and very attentive to our table needs. Would certainly return maybe for breakfast.
The only thing we would suggest are cleaner restrooms.

Stopped at bennys in big bear for a family dinner and wasn’t disappointed! The service was super inviting and friendly our server Jesus was helpful and nice. The manager Janet made experience fun by taking to our kids and making them laugh. I give this place a 10/10 and would recommend it to anyone new to area looking for a place to eat. Benny’s Big Bear was an amazing experience from start to finish. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service truly stood out. Javier provided outstanding service — attentive, friendly, and always with a great attitude that made us feel right at home. You can really tell when someone enjoys what they do, and Javier definitely does. We’ll absolutely be back and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Big Bear

Debbie was a complete charm. She took care of our orders joyfully and swiftly. I was divided between choosing the chorizo & egg skillet or the chorizo & egg burrito. I chose the skillet and before I could even ask about adding extras to my skillet, she read my mind and asked if I’d like avocado or tortillas added or both and I obviously said both. We came to this place years ago when it used to be a Denny’s, and we’re happy we came back to check it out as Benny’s Family Restaurant. Would come back for the food and definitely for the service too.

Two cooks in the kitchen and only three servers, and unfortunately our experience at Benny’s was extremely disappointing. From the start, the service felt unorganized. The kids’ food came out first, but when the rest of our order arrived over an hour later, the 9-piece wing order was missing two wings. To make matters worse, the wings and chicken were cold, as if they had been sitting out for quite some time.
The side of buffalo sauce we ordered never arrived, and we weren’t offered extra napkins or other basic service items, which only added to the frustration. My sister’s meal was still partially frozen and cold, and the chilaquiles were soggy and unappetizing.
While the servers themselves were polite and clearly trying their best, it was obvious the restaurant was understaffed. They even mentioned being short-handed, and I genuinely felt bad for them. However, staffing issues don’t excuse missing items, frozen food, cold dishes, and extremely long wait times. The lack of preparation and quality control made the experience unacceptable.
I had high expectations based on Benny’s 4.8-star rating, but this visit did not live up to the hype at all. Overall, the experience was not worth the time or money, and honestly, a regular fast-food meal would have been a better option. Unfortunately, this visit left us very disappointed and unlikely to return.
