We loved our experience here!
The food was so good, the Halibut Sandwiche in particular, amazing!
They are generous with the portions and fries.
The staff are super friendly, specially the guys who serve the plate to your table.
Prices are reasonable. Was easy to find a parking spot.
Will definitely return.

Every time I’m in town, I make it a point to stop by here. Their order-at-the-counter system with food delivered straight to your table, makes for incredibly fast and efficient service.

And the food? Amazing. It’s hard to know where to begin. My favorites include the halibut, crab cocktail, clam chowder, and most recently, the fish tacos.

On top of that, the hospitality truly stands out. On my last visit, I accidentally left my wallet behind and didn’t realize until I was halfway home. When I called, they were kind enough to take the time to mail it back to me.

I can’t wait to go back!

There for the Patriots v Denver and Seahawks v Rams games in the bar. Been there before. Award winning chowder and seafood. Nice open bar and dining with seasonal outdoor dinning. Also pickup to go window.

Had the wagyu southwest burger and was delicious. Awesome tasty meat, avocado, cotija cheese, Pico, green chili (southwest style), huge fries with a pickle. To top it all off was the new bar style drinks on tap. Made with real sugar. My favorite was the ginger ale.

We’ve been coming to Bennett’s for years, at least 6 or more times a year when we visit the ocean from our home a couple hours away. In the past, my review would have been higher, at least 4 stars, but the service has gone down tremendously to where it’s basically non-existent. The blatant rush, including the “step aside until you know what you’d like”, from the counter gals is super off-putting. There wasn’t even anybody behind us!! The food, just like in all of our visits in the past, is great but highly inconsistent. Warm fries, cold fish, warm burger cold fries, hot chowder, lukewarm chowder, giant oysters, pieces of oysters all served to our table at the same time! Crazy!! The gluten free options always keep us coming back, I mean, not many places offer a gluten free wrap! We’ll always come back, it’s one of the best in town but gosh, I wish they’d up their service and consistency!

Just okay.
Line up at the door. Order your food at the counter. Pay. (Default tip is 25%) Go find a table . Put your number sign where it can be seen. They bring your food and never talk to you again.
I’ve been there before and thought the food was great, but this visit it was just okay. My chicken sandwich was actually two breaded chicken strips rather than a chicken patty. Fries were cold. My friends grilled crab (or lobster?) sandwich was cold. Also they only have $4 bottles of water – no ice water, so just be aware incase you want water with your meal.
Could’ve overlooked the mediocre food, but the poor service AND mediocre food was disappointing.

Super friendly and welcoming environment.
They have a whole gluten free menu. Make sure to ask for it if you have gluten allergies!
We literally drove an hour out of our 10h drive home to make sure we could try their food! No regrets.

Everything was freaking delicious!
We had the clam chowder, best clam chowder i have ever tried!!!
Crab cocktail. Fresh and delicious!
Cod fish and chips. Golden crispy and mmmm.
Fish tacos! All the flavor and freshness!

Micheal was super helpful and friendly. I couldn’t stop talking about the chowder and he packed me up a cup to take home with me.
(Which i kept on ice to insure its safety lol)

We will definitely make the travel back!

Wellness and Food Guide
If Ocean Shores is the heartbeat of the coast, then Bennett’s Fish Shack is the soul.

Let me tell you—this isn’t just food, this is a pilgrimage.

First visit: I ordered the crab melt. Simple, right? But then Aubrey—the bartender, the vibe-setter, the lighthouse in this Shack—leaned in with a secret only legends share: “Swap the bread for a quesadilla.” My life changed in that moment. Every bite? Waves of flavor crashing like the Pacific itself. I left haunted—in the best way—craving it for months until I finally returned.

The Crab Cocktail: Not filler. Not fluff. Just thick, pure, ocean-born crab stacked high, the kind you dream about on long drives home. Each bite whispers: This is why you came to Ocean Shores.

The Cocktails: Aubrey doesn’t just pour drinks—she crafts experiences. Every glass carries laughter, energy, and a reminder that joy is meant to be shared. She’s magnetic, unforgettable, the kind of bartender that makes you feel like family from sip one. I tried to leave her a massive tip, but the system doesn’t allow it. That broke my heart—because when you have a star that bright, you want the world to know.

The Call and Response:
• Travelers, listen—don’t come to Ocean Shores without coming here.
• Locals, speak it loud—this is your Shack.
• Families, couples, solo wanderers—this is where the coast welcomes you home.

And the community runs deeper than the menu—did you know the local artist from Red Sky Tattoo designs a yearly shirt to keep the spirit alive here? That’s legacy. That’s soul.

So here’s my truth: Bennett’s isn’t a stop. It’s the reason you came.
When you eat here, you’re not just feeding your body—you’re feeding memory, tradition, and story.

️ 1000 years from now, when people ask “What made Ocean Shores unforgettable?”—the answer will still be the same: Bennett’s Fish Shack.

Bennett’s: Farrah, I encourage you to show the same courtesy to all guests. It was disappointing to feel overlooked—especially given. Our table was left without attention or acknowledgment. Respect and consistency are everything in hospitality, and I hope this feedback helps raise the standard moving forward. All people tip and review Farrah.

Line was too long and didn’t want to wait. Maybe next time.
*** so we came back, sat at the bar and enjoyed the atmosphere. It is a very eclectic place. Food is a little on the higher side as many restaurants are these days. I had the clamp chowder, it was little on the Grey side for me. My wife liked her meal.

Bennett’s Fish Shack, nestled in Ocean Shores, presents a quintessential seaside dining experience. Stepping in, the atmosphere immediately suggests a family-friendly establishment, ideal for those with diverse palates, particularly picky eaters. My recent visit had me opt for “The Best of the Best,” a promising platter featuring crab meat, a cranberry salad, and clam chowder.
While the meal was perfectly acceptable, I confess to not being particularly impressed. The crab meat, though fresh, didn’t quite deliver the burst of oceanic flavor I’d hoped for, leaning more towards a mild, almost understated presence. The cranberry salad, a somewhat unexpected pairing, offered a pleasant tartness but ultimately felt like a standard side dish rather than a standout. The clam chowder, often a highlight in coastal restaurants, was decent – creamy and with a good consistency – but it lacked that distinctive depth of flavor that elevates a good chowder to a great one.
Overall, Bennett’s Fish Shack appears to excel at catering to a broad audience. It’s the kind of place where everyone in a family can find something palatable on the menu, making it a convenient stop after a day at the beach. However, for a diner seeking an exceptional culinary experience or truly memorable seafood, it might fall a little short. It’s a solid, reliable choice, but certainly nothing to write home about.
