This was my second time enjoying the dish, and once again, it didn’t disappoint — in fact, it was even better than the first.
However, the wine pairing still leaves room for improvement. While the current selection may suit some palates, it doesn’t quite complement the depth of the bisque or elevate the meal as much as it could. A refresh in the wine list could truly enhance the overall dining experience.
And of course, no visit is complete without dessert. Even when I’m full, I just can’t resist — it’s the perfect way to end a memorable meal. Their tiramisu is a must try.

Benjamin Steakhouse delivered an unforgettable dining experience. The filet mignon was cooked to absolute perfection, tender and full of flavor, and every dish that came to the table reflected the same level of care and quality. The ambiance was elegant yet comfortable, creating the perfect setting to relax and enjoy a beautiful meal. Our waitress was exceptional, attentive without ever feeling rushed, and her thoughtful service elevated the entire evening. The location was also very convenient, which made the night even smoother.

The restaurant is stunning, from the décor to the overall atmosphere, and you can feel the pride they put into every detail. A truly impeccable experience from start to finish. Highly recommend. Mahalo for such a memorable meal.

I rarely write Google reviews, but this experience absolutely deserves one. This was my second time visiting Kyoto—a city that is very special to me—and while staying nearby, we decided to visit this steakhouse after being drawn in by how elegant and inviting it looked. From the moment we arrived, the experience was exceptional.

The host was incredibly polite and accommodating, kindly taking our jackets and escorting us to a private booth. The interior was beautiful—tasteful décor, excellent presentation, and a very comfortable, refined atmosphere that immediately set the tone for the evening.

Our server, Haruki, was outstanding. He explained each dish with great care and detail, describing flavors and preparations thoughtfully and clearly. His service was attentive without ever feeling intrusive—he checked in regularly, was extremely efficient, and made the entire dining experience seamless. Speaking as someone who spent over 10 years working in the restaurant industry (including a family business), the level of professionalism and service we received was truly impressive.

The food was phenomenal. We ordered the Wagyu and an aged steak, along with several shared side dishes—every single one was excellent. The macaroni and cheese, in particular, completely exceeded expectations and was easily one of the highlights of the night. The wine selection was excellent, and dessert was just as memorable: the pecan pie is an absolute must, and the chocolate sundae was fantastic as well.

This visit was especially meaningful as it was my first wedding anniversary, shared with my wife and brother-in-law, and the entire evening felt genuinely magical. The care, attention to detail, and warmth from the entire staff made it a night we will always remember.

Thank you to Haruki and to everyone on the team for such an unforgettable experience. This is a truly beautiful place, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I’ve been to Kyoto three times now, and this place has been the best meal I’ve ever had—you absolutely have to try it!
I’m always recommending the Crab Cake, the lobster soup, and whatever steak you’re in the mood for.
The homemade sauce is amazing, but don’t forget to add the cream-less spinach. If you’re looking for a great place to eat, definitely check this one out!

The food is great and worthy of the price. The service was great and truly creates the fancy atmosphere that the restaurant shoots for. The only negative thing I have to say is that there is a lot of dust. The walls just slightly above head level all have lots of dust and it should be cleaned. As for what I paid for in the meal and service I was more than impressed!

Delicious steak, great service, lovely interiors & an ideal location to explore Kyoto. We dined upstairs, the private red booths looked really cool!

We started with a fresh & tasty green salad, a hearty beef soup & then had wagyu steak with delicious creamed spinach & mashed potatoes for mains. We drank old fashioned cocktails & delicious Zinfandel wine with the steak, and finished it was a tiramisu for dessert. It was lovely! The service was fantastic.

An enjoyable meal. We will definitely go again

Kyoto Meets Manhattan: A Steakhouse So Refined, Even the Silence Tastes Better

Review:
After a day on the mats training judo in Kyoto, I wasn’t just looking for dinner—I was hunting for an experience. Benjamin Steakhouse didn’t just deliver; it elevated. Tucked into the quiet elegance of the city, this steakhouse feels like a secret handshake between New York swagger and Kyoto precision.

The lighting is low and golden, casting a cinematic glow over polished wood and deep leather. Every detail—from the heavy silverware wrapped in a blood-red cloth to the understated jazz drifting from the bar—whispers intention.

I ordered the New York Sirloin Steak, medium rare. What arrived was a masterclass in dry aging: a deep crust, velvety center, and flavor that spoke fluent umami. Paired with creamless creamed spinach and mashed potatoes, it was steakhouse minimalism done with Michelin-level execution. The steak sauce, served in a porcelain saucer with a silver spoon, was bold yet refined—just like the room.

Service was as sharp as the steak knives—discreet, intuitive, and quietly confident. I never asked for water; it appeared. I never looked for my server; they anticipated.

Standout Moment:
That first bite. The kind that silences conversation and narrows the world to flavor and texture. A moment of pure culinary clarity.

Final Verdict:
Benjamin Steakhouse Kyoto isn’t just a place to eat—it’s a place to arrive. Ideal for global foodies, business diners, or anyone who understands that a steak, done right, can be a spiritual experience.

Ratings:
• Food: 5/5

• Service: 5/5
• Value: 4.5/5

Pro Tip: Ask for the sirloin medium rare, pair it with spinach, and savor it slow. This is not a meal—it’s a memory.

The foods are really good. But the portion of main course is quite large. I had lamb racks which were wonderful! Other members of my family had beef and salmon, which they were appreciated! We also had the salad (great), oysters (super good!!), grilled asparagus(also great).
Recommend booking before coming here.

My daughter and I had a beautiful evening at Benjamin Steak House Kyoto.
The warm smiles, thoughtful service, and exquisite steak made us feel truly cherished.
To our surprise, they even brought a little sparkling cake, perhaps to celebrate Mother’s Day — a gesture that touched our hearts deeply.
We are from Taipei, Taiwan, and we were so moved by this experience that we look forward to returning here on our next trip to Japan.
A place where kindness and flavor meet — highly recommended.

We visited the restaurant with a group of friends. Most of us ordered the “Surf and Turf”. Both the beef and the lobster were outstanding. The service was excellent, thanks to a charming young woman who was attentive without ever being intrusive.
The interior is tastefully designed and well-suited to a steakhouse atmosphere. However, we were the only guests that evening, which made the experience feel a bit empty and isolating. It’s hard to say whether this was due to the relatively high prices or perhaps a decline in the popularity of American-style restaurants in Japan, possibly influenced by the Trump-era tariffs.
