Benihana’s hibachi experience is always consistent and entertaining, a great place to celebrate any occasion or just for a nice dinner. The menu offered a good variety of meats and fish all cooked before your eyes and also a good amount of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to fit everyone needs.

We tried the special menu with the ribeye and A5 wagyu along with the tuna and steak yakisoba dishes. Everything was cooked to our liking and so flavor! Big thank you to our chef, Ramon, for making it such a fun night.

Make sure to make a reservation as there is limited space in the restaurant and can get very busy, very fast. Also, if you park in the garage off state street, you can get validation at the hostess stand before you leave.

Can’t wait to go back!

My partner and I went here for a date night and had an amazing time. Our server Katie was fantastic. Super friendly and always made sure we had everything we needed.
Our chef Santi was an amazing cook. It was really fun to watch him work and the food came out delicious.
The manager Haylee also came to our table during our visit to help out and made some excellent recommendations on the menu that we ended up trying.
The whole team made it an unforgettable night for us. I would definitely recommend giving it a try!

We had the absolute best experience at Benihana thanks to Giovanni! From the moment we sat down, his energy, professionalism, and attention to detail made the entire night special. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish.

The food was incredible — fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection — and Giovanni’s service truly elevated the whole dining experience. He anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and made us feel so welcome.

If you’re dining at Benihana, definitely ask for Giovanni. Amazing service and great food — a true 5-star experience!

The first thing I would like to point out is we had a rather large group of 25 people that we had made a reservation for a couple of days earlier as family was coming into town for a funeral. Our servers were absolutely astounding with our orders and had a great attitude during our time there.

However, I had a very unpleasant experience with their manager, Hayley, and I will be escalating this further. We contacted Benihana to make a reservation and upon calling, she seemed very accommodating saying they can seat our group in the sushi lounge. She asked if we would primarily ordering sushi. We were unsure of what most people would order but figured some would order sushi. She said that’s ok and it’s fine to order from the grill, too.

After we were sat down, we realized we only had one server for our large group and we received our water by the 30 minute mark. Again-NOT the fault of the server. We asked for a second server and thankfully one was able to help after 45 minutes.

After we ordered, our group quickly realized that the vast majority of us ordered from the hibachi menu. Our orders took about an hour and a half for everyone to receive their food. We were not made aware that they would have preferred most of us to order from the sushi menu; however the menus provided had both hibachi and sushi options.

I wanted to provide some feedback to the manager to say it is ok to remind your customers to order primarily from the sushi menu unless there are dietary restrictions in the future for large parties the next time you have a group this large. She stated very curtly, “well-I said to him (my stepfather who made the reservation) that it is to be primarily sushi only-not hibachi!” She then pointed to her seating screen saying “See? It says right here: ‘Primarily sushi only.’” This can actually be taken in a couple of ways: either our party SAID we were going to order primarily sushi or we were instructed to. From our perspective, it was the former since we couldn’t confirm with everyone in the party prior to arrival.

She did not like my feedback whatsoever. She went on to say, “Well, there WONT be a next time because we usually only go through event plannings but because we knew this was for a funeral, we wanted to accommodate.” I did tell her that we very much appreciated it but all I was asking for is to perhaps in the future, remind your guests to only order from the sushi menu if possible. She then went to say something I wasn’t expecting: “Oh, I know what it feels like to be a part of a funeral-I had to bury my three year old daughter so I of all people know how you feel.” Being gaslit by your manager was one of the most inappropriate things I’ve ever experienced as a customer. Hayley does not understand the concept of taking accountability and instead handed me a card for an events coordinator for our “next time.” To throw her deceased 3-year-old daughter into the conversation was completely unnecessary and unprofessional to the max.

As mentioned, atmosphere, food and servers were fantastic. Your manager however? Please feel free to reach out to me to further discuss.

Went here for a date night and loved it! We had Katie as our server. She was quick, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. She made the recommendation to get the A5 wagyu and it was incredible. She brought great energy to the table.
We had Santi as our cook. He was funny, personable, and had great table tricks. He also cooked our steak to perfection! He made it a fun experience.
Even the manger Haylee stopped by our table. She was charismatic and kind. We loved that she was so involved with her team.

Absolutely phenomenal!

Timmy and Olivia made our experience unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, their warmth and attentiveness set the tone for an incredible meal. Every dish was bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly crafted with care.

The atmosphere was welcoming, the service flawless, and their recommendations were spot-on. Timmy and Olivia went above and beyond to make us feel special—it’s rare to encounter staff who genuinely enhance the entire dining experience.

I can’t wait to come back and will be recommending this restaurant to everyone. Simply outstanding!

I’ve been going to Benihana since I was 17. I’ve even have a great relationship with one of the servers, Nancy. I’m 55 now and have sadly watched the decline of this once upscale restaurant. Tonight was my bf birthday. Right when we sat down it felt off. We were stuffed into a very cold corner of the restaurant where we had to wear coats the whole time, you could feel the breeze thru the windows. The waitress was really good to begin with, then we saw her once after dinner service. I ordered wine and never got it, but the HUGE issue was that sometime during the cooking process, the chef had cross contaminated the meat that was cooking with everybody else’s stuff. All of a sudden a new chef entered and started the cooking process all over. Nobody gave an explanation, we only got answers from the guy who said his food was contaminated. They’re was no explanation as to what happen, and that terrifies me! How many times has that happened and they just don’t say anything. Obviously they didn’t want to comp our dinner and the other couple at the end table that were so confused, too. We had already been there 2.5 hours and if we stayed till the new cooked finished we would have been there 3.5 hours.
Like I’ve said, this was once such a great place to go to for special occasions, as I’ve have done so for 38 years and after tonight, I don’t think I’ll ever go back and will tell everyone the story of cross contamination that was covered up.
I really hope Benihana trains their chefs better and I don’t go back because of this.

A group of 9 of us came in a few days ago while in town working at an arena show. What we experienced was the most disgraceful level of service any of us have encountered. Aside from the fact we were left to wait for a table for 30 mins despite having a reservation, the “chef”, Timmy, was rude, racist and completely vulgar. He told us he moved to SLC to support his brother who was there on a mission (yuk number 1); kept referring to the size of his appendage and making gestures towards his groin, after we told him we were a group of predominantly gay women (yuk number 2) and finally, and most importantly, while talking directly to two Black women, he told us his brother was “moving to a town with 48% African Americans so I need to go there to show him how to speak to *these* people”…

When the atmosphere changed at the table, we all were in a stunned silence and he sarcastically asked, ‘do you want me to just stop talking?’, my boss (and one of America’s most well respected music tour managers) said ‘I think that would be a good idea…’, he proceeded to huff and puff, with rice flying everywhere… he was carelessly throwing the bowls of rice at us, but when it came to my friend (who was one of the Black women he was aggressively talking to previously), he threw the bowl so hard, it tipped all over her. At this point, she and I got up to leave and we complained. My boss then asked the duty manager to have the chef removed. This was not done immediately and there was some confusion all round. She told me that they are not allowed to mention being on a ‘mission’, let alone any of the other stuff. It seemed that this was not his first infraction.

Of a $900 check, we received a $150 discount. My boss was given the manager’s (Aaron) number to call the next day. She did that and was told he wasn’t available to speak to, so she left her number, explained the circumstances to the guy on the phone – predictably, Aaron never called back.

An utterly disgraceful experience.

We enjoyed a fun family dinner. We were seated in a great spot, out of any busy passing-through so we could enjoy conversation. Our chef Mario was excellent, efficient, friendly and the food was delicious! Our server Nathan was also very attentive and gave wonderful service, even though it was a very busy night. We had a wonderful time.
