Pleasantly surprised, our experience was amazing.

My daughter and son-in-law took me out for brunch on my birthday to Benihana. We always pass by and I tell them how I used to dine there a lot back when I lived in Hawaii, and how great the food was.
We weren’t disappointed.
As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by the bartender who let us know someone would be right with us.
Soon after we were led to our seats. Drink placed and food order taken. After we ate, the host/server gave all 3 of us ice cream for my birthday.
Our chef arrived with our food and started a nice chat as he was cooking. The food was delicious! Service A+, atmosphere, quaint and comforting.
We went during lunch and the prices, reasonable for the quality and quantity.
Highly recommend Benihana and for sure, we will be returning.

The food was amazing! We went for resturaunt week and their selected menu was perfect for the two of us to enjoy. We typically do Saga in Monroeville but this was a nice change of pace and a good amount of food for the price.

Ugh. If Denny’s were to do hibachi, it’d be like this place. I thought Benihana was the OG in hibachi, but I guess not. It wasn’t bad, but wasn’t great either. Odd smell throughout when we walked in. Kinda Like going to your grandparents house. No swanky vibe, trendy lighting, cool music, or contemporary ambiance at all. Cracker Barrel is more edgy than this place. None of us could understand our chef through his mask, and after repeated what’s?, we just gave up and took what he gave us. Another annoyance was he would only cook one protein at a time, so ya got shrimp, then 10 minutes later you got the steak, then 10 more minutes ya got your chicken. All the food was pretty good at a fair price. But the real MVP was the yum-yum sauce.

Fernando was amazing! We had him when he was first hired , I am so happy to hear that he is head chef, it is well deserved. I am disappointed that they took the green tea pot off the grill as that was so nice to be able to serve ourselves. The server we had was ok, he was tall with dark shaggy hair he seemed a bit too excited but terrible. We love the new restaurant rewards. We do wish the prices had not been increased as much as they have. Overall we love the restaurant.

It was so. Fun to see that Benihana still existed. We used to go when we’re were kids. We came here for dinner and it did not dissapointed. The restaurant was busy and staff were amazing and attentive. Our chef was also excellent and a lot of fun. Portions are large and delicious. The menu has lots of options for meat and vegeterian people as well. I would highly recommend you pay this place a visit. Some of the best hibachi I have ever had. I can’t wait to come back.

This is so disappointing! My mom, daughter, and I went to Benihanas for the first time in a few years as we moved away from Pittsburgh. Since we were in the area yesterday we were super excited to go and enjoy a meal we haven’t had in years and quickly the disappointments came. When we first got there the lady who seated us was great our waitress on the other hand brought us our drinks right away then we sat there for about 20 minutes then she brought the soup at that time I told her I didn’t want I would actually prefer the salad (which should have been included in my meal and my mothers as we BOTH ordered the splash in meadow DINNER! We told her at the very beginning my mom couldn’t have anything with a Spicey ingredient it could put my mom in the hospital she brought my mom the salad with a large lump of ginger on top my mom asked for yum-yum sauce as the dressing which she didn’t receive. When the waitress finally came back we asked her again about the salad to have one without the ginger and for the dressing when she same out she brought my mom a new salad with oil and vinegar bottles still no yum-yum sauce. As we sat there we watched the people at the table in front of us wait for their chef we watched the chef cook their meal watched them eat their meal and LEAVE while we were still sitting and WAITING and the waitress NEVER came and said anything. Meanwhile one of their employees came in and got seated behind us LONG AFTER WE WERE SEATED yet THEY WERE cooked for and served STILL BEFORE WE GOT SERVED! I must say our chef Nate was the best part of our experience. Friendly, funny, the food tasted AMAZING but the portion sizes were incredibly cut down I will include a picture to remind you I ordered DINNER not lunch.
AFTER the chef came all of a sudden our waitress now remembered we were her table she came every 2 seconds BUT while we sat there for over an HOUR she NEVER came back and said it’s gonna be a little while never said they had reservations never said ANYTHING!
I expressed my frustration to her as the chef was coming out and her only response was well your chef is here now. The chef I also expressed my frustration too was very apologetic and informed us they are under staffed and he was sorry.
As we were leaving I informed the waitress I would pay at the booth in the front as I also wanted to speak to the manager so she walked off she instantly went up front as we got there (my mom and I are both in wheelchairs) the manager was getting to the stand NOW THE WAITRESS STOOD AND KEPT FIND REASONS TO WALK BACK AND FOURTH as she put herself in my convo with the manager but I still informed the manager of our disappointment all he tried to say at first was we take reservations first. And I told him that should have been mentioned not just left us sit there like an idiot for over an hour especially after telling the waitress we lived 2 hours away and had to get home before the bad weather came. Was I supposed to believe all of a sudden your employee put in a reservation and you had enough people to run back and fourth to serve them AFTER WE WERE THERE FIRST FOR A GOOD 20 minutes yet ignored? Then he offered some appetizer vouchers and I explained to him 5 times WE DONT LIVE AROUND HERE! Ultimately he took 10% off our bill but I still will NEVER go back!
Then the food the portion sizes are a 1/3 of what you used to get they increased the meal alone I got from 35$ to 50$ yet removed shrimp you used to get 4 now you get 3 and the vegetables are 3 bites that used to be a decent amount I was totally dissatisfied if it wasn’t for Nate the chef we would have left as we were planning to as he arrived at the table. Oh BTW for others who haven’t been there in a while they also increased the change of price from white rice to fried rice was 3.50 now it’s 7$
I selected no wait for the table because we were seated instantly it was then after we were ignored

I will never dine here again! These people want to make money the American way, but don’t want to do service the American way! My last order from them was over 43.00 . It was a delivery. I forgot to add a 2 0z spicy mayo, which they wanted 2.00 for… I know, it’s crazy. I asked could they add it in my order this time. The woman who answered the phone said no. She said give me 2.00 dollars for the sauce or I can’t help you! Nevertheless I cancelled the whole order over a 2 0z spicy sauce, in all fairness the whole bottle would cost that much! Learn how to do better! This is why we need to stop supporting these places! Greed is unreal! This definitely will be my last time!

Husband made reservations over a week in advance for our anniversary dinner. We have never been. Arrived 10 mins prior to 7pm reservation. Day at the bar because “they were waiting for tables to leave”. Ok fine. Went to the bar and proceeded to pay $26 for a mixed drink and a non-alcoholic drink. 15 mins later one of the hostess came up and asked our names again, then proceeded to tell us “it will be just a couple minutes they are cleaning your table” ok cool. Waited another 20 minutes and another hostess came up and said “we’re just waiting for people to leave…make sure you cash out up here” um which is it cleaning or people still there??? After about 10 more minutes we told them to cancel our reservation…..it was after 730 and hungry. Left and went across the way to Mad Mex. No wait, fabulous drinks for half the price and tasty food. Will never ever go back to Benniha ……ever.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 – Outstanding Experience with Chef Alex!

Our group of five adults and two children had an absolutely wonderful time at Benihana on Greentree Road! From start to finish, the experience was top-notch.

Our chef, Alex, was truly exceptional. He was personable, funny, and incredibly engaging with everyone at the table — adults and kids alike. He took the time to answer all our questions and clearly knew his craft inside and out. His skill and confidence made the cooking show both entertaining and impressive. Every dish he prepared was cooked to perfection — flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. You could tell he genuinely enjoys what he does, and it made the entire meal even more enjoyable.

Our server was also outstanding — attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Their professionalism and warm demeanor helped make our visit seamless and relaxing.

Between the delicious food, the lively atmosphere, and the incredible service from both Alex and our server, this was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Pittsburgh. We’ll definitely be back and will be asking for Alex again!

We my family and I, 6 of us went there for my grandsons 15th birthday. Which I was told not to worry they celebrate and would sing and take lots of pics, they took 1, I informed them it was a birthday when I made my reservation and when we got there we reminded them it was a BD celebration and we informed our server before my grandson got there. My grandson ordered the Wagyu meal, he was not given the tea nor his dessert that was supposed to come with his meal, in fact none of us were even offered dessert by our server she just brought us containers when she seen we had food left and handed us our check. Then my husband had to go remind them to sing for his BD when we was getting ready to leave, no dessert or anything at
Least for him and bc it was supposed to come with his meal. Which is almost an $90 meal by itself. We also ordered a meal to go which took an extra 20 minutes after we paid our check. When we asked our server told us it would be one more minute but we waited and didn’t see our server again at all. So my husband went to ask the hostess at the door and she went and checked and said it would be a little while longer that the cooks were behind but I think our server forgot to turn it in. She was very nice but not efficient. I only say that bc I was a server for many years. And I think an $850 night should have been better I was disappointed for my grandson. And we didn’t just walk in we made a reservation. And I want to add that the chef did an excellent job with preparing our meals!
