I decided to stop in for lunch today, and I’m glad I did. I was seated promptly, and greeted by our server, Dominique. Throughout the meal she was very professional, friendly, and attentive. I even saw her take leftovers one of my tables mates left behind, out to the parking lot for them; how sweet! Our Chef, Chef Brian is clearly a master of his craft. The food was excellent, and he managed the multiple orders and requests with gentleness and ease, while also being very personable. Overall, I couldn’t be pleased more with the experience. Definitely will be back soon!

It was slow for the time of day, but the service was excellent. The Aviance was great. Our server was really cool and interactive. We had a good time and the food was delicious and I felt like it was overall priced correctly. It was pretty cheap because it was only three so we got lunchtime prices.

The food was fine and the chef was really nice, very funny, but we had a reservation for 7 and weren’t seated until past 7:30 and our chef didnt show up until we had been sitting for 40 minutes. So we were starving. We didnt get any drinks, even water until 20 minutes into sitting at the table and took a while longer to get my drink. It was Saturday so it was busy but not that busy. For the price you pay I think they should honor your reservation. I dont think I will be back.

Decent Food, But Didn’t Live Up to the Hype

This was my first time visiting Benihana. I’ve experienced teppanyaki many times before and I really enjoy Japanese cuisine, so I had high expectations based on the brand’s reputation.

The menu was pretty standard — exactly what you’d expect at a teppanyaki restaurant — but the overall experience felt a bit underwhelming. I thought there would be more excitement or a stronger “wow” factor to match the hype Benihana is known for. I’m aware this is an older location, but the atmosphere just didn’t capture the elevated dining experience I was expecting.

On the positive side, the food itself was decent and I did enjoy my meal. Everything was cooked well and I finished my plate. However, it didn’t leave a strong impression that would make me eager to return.

I might give Benihana another chance in a busier or more upscale city where the ambiance and energy may be better — since that’s where I usually hear the great reviews from. But as for this visit, I wasn’t super impressed.

This was actually the worst experience I have ever had at a hibachi restaurant.
Not only was the service truly horrendous, but we were charged $6.50 extra per serving to upgrade white rice to fried rice. At every other hibachi restaurant it is included and you get a choice between rice or noodles. My chicken hibachi dinner was about $41 while at other restaurants a dinner portion of chicken hibachi is around $19, and I would have a full plate with enough to take home leftovers. The serving amount of vegetables was pitiful for $30-$60 dinner portions. AND the server did NOT ask our table about the ice cream and green tea that is supposed to be included with our meal, but gave us checks and boxes and expected us to leave until I had to ask about it. (It’s included in the $50+ meal, yes I want what was advertised from this “premium” hibachi restaurant). I wish I could make sure that the chef gets the entirety of my tip. But unfortunately the service and portion size for the cost is far too poor to be worth it.
I expect premium service and food quality to be included in the premium pricing.

Brian was our chef. He was phenomenal. He put on an incredible show and treated each guest as though they were valuable. He made everyone’s order to specification, and even the children had their eyes glued to his grill! He is the best chef here!
Our server was terrible. She had a horrible attitude despite our positivity. She chose to come to work today, but treated us like we were an inconvenience. She was intentionally unpleasant and that’s what’s bothersome… especially considering the cost of dining with this restaurant. Speaking of which; the kids menu comes with crayons but there is nothing to color on the front or back… and they don’t have French fries for the children. Makes no sense!
Anyhow, we will come see Brian again, he was amazing! Ask for him if you stop by!

My family and I had a great time celebrating my good health. I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in November of 2024. Since it had already spread into my liver, I was only given three to six months to live. I thank God that He not only spared my life, but restored my health in such way that I wanted to celebrate it.
So our food and fellowship was great. Our chef, Brian was exceptional and anytime we revisit, he will be our choice.

The food was excellent Roco the chef was perfection probably the best we have ever had, however the server completely lied to us and said the special was less than dinner ( it was twice the price) we had to call him over for drinks twice, he wasn’t going to get the Ice cream until I asked. He had two other tables so it’s not like he was slammed. The reason I am even bothering to write a review is he straight up lied but the main complaint (three of us lunch was almost $400) please also note we each had about 5 shrimp for $69.00 HE HANDED MY DAD THE BILL AND ASKED OUT LOUD WHAT PERCENTAGE my dad said 20% and that was 67.00 for average to below average service this man had the AUDACITY to say are you sure you don’t want to do 30% it’s the holidays (that would of been over $100) for a 1.5 he lunch with no appetizers and no alcohol. My dad hit the 20%, :/ I just wanted to managers to be aware. Also super sketchy he didn’t drop the bill at all just handed my dad the credit card invoice, once I saw the price I asked for the itemized bill I have never had a server not drop a bill before.

Went on Valentine’s Day so, slower service was expected. The soup was room temperature and we never got our alcoholic drink (punch bowl) even after the server returned to the table 4 times saying it would be there soon. The chef cooked up the rice (with very little theatrical skill expected at a hibachi restaurant) and gave none to me and my wife. The server had to bring some from the back 15 minutes later. My Wagyu steak was doused in pepper to the point you couldn’t taste the meat. $70 wasted. The chicken my wife had was dry and tasteless. It was the worst hibachi we’ve ever had. Others at the table said they were utterly disappointed as well. Koto’s, Izakaya’s, Kabuto’s, hell… Even Yummy Bowl has been MUCH better. We will never return to Benihana. It isn’t even good enough to take home to the puppy.
