Dear Benihana Management,
I am extremely disappointed with the quality of my recent takeout order. I have been a loyal customer of this location for over 30 years, and I’ve always enjoyed both the food and service — until now.
I ordered my usual Benihana Delight with chicken fried rice, but the experience was far below your standards. I waited in the lobby for about 10 minutes before being acknowledged, even though two staff members walked past me multiple times. When I finally received my order, the portion size seemed smaller than what’s typically served when dining in.
The chicken was dry and cut into tiny, hard pieces, and the fried rice contained burnt onions. The chicken for the rice was simply placed on top as if it were a garnish, and there were barely any onions mixed in. Overall, the meal looked more like a kids’ portion than the entrée I’ve come to expect.
This level of quality and service is unacceptable, especially for a restaurant with Benihana’s reputation. I’ve visited other locations and have never had an experience like this. This location truly needs attention to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction.
I hope you’ll address these issues promptly so loyal customers like myself can continue to enjoy Benihana with confidence.

So I’m not really a big fan of Benny’s but when I say they food was amazing it was really good we ate at the bar (happy hour) we had appetizers and other things but the food was so good. We couldn’t get a picture of everything,The new burger they offer is amazing. They seasoned the burgers like it was no tomorrow the french fries was hot wasn’t nothing burnt. The spicy chicken dumplings was good and the tempura shrimps was fried to perfection. Lisa was the bar tender who took our order she was such a sweetheart and did an excellent job cause I’m a picky eater…. thank u sooo much And I’ll be back soon

We ordered food to go. The gluten-free rice was not marked I came inside to ask them about that without asking any questions they cooked me another gluten-free rice. Then I asked if we could eat inside even though we got food to go and we had paid for it they put all the tables together for me and my big family and we ate there .The service and the food are top notch don’t go anywhere else don’t overthink it come on down to this place they are the best

I had high hopes for coming here and was sadly disappointed. We got seated fairly quickly, no issues there. However we waited for approximately 30 minutes for the server to even come to take drink orders. Drinks took at least another 20 minutes. He only came back once the entire night for drink orders and immediately walked away after another guest ordered, not waiting around to see if anyone else needed another drink. Furthermore, the chef had to go ask the server during service to get rice as it appears he forgot about that. The server has to be asked about drinks and appetizers due to the lengthy wait. Mind you, I watched another server zip around and continuously kept her tables filled with drinks.
After dinner/everyone was done eating, the entire table literally sat there for another 15-20 minutes when we finally had to flag someone down (not our server) to get our checks. I’ve never come so close to walking out on a place but tonight was infuriating. He walked by a few times and never bothered to check on us. A couple of us got the 6 course meal (which included ice cream) and he didn’t even offer the dessert.
The only reason for the 2nd star was the food was great and our chef (Leo) was great as well. Just super disappointed in our server and for the absorbant price, I expect a little better. I do not plan on coming here again.

My family and I had a lovely time. Our server was very nice. We had 10 people at the table and as you can imagine that is not an easy task to deal with but she handled it very well. Our chef Frank was hilarious and witty. The cook on the meat and vegetables was amazing. So grateful for his cooking and hosting skill.

I made a reservation for my husband’s birthday for 7pm. We did arrive 10 min late, and ended up getting seated at 7:30 pm. Our salad didn’t arrive until 8:30 pm and the chef came to our table around 9pm. We had to ask twice for our drink order to come out. The staff was arguing with each other. We also told the staff it was my husband’s birthday when we made the reservation and again at the able and they never sang happy birthday even though they sang to other parties around us. The lights were flickering the whole time. Food wasn’t worth the long wait and terrible service. Everyone who served us was kind- but service was NOT good and we regret coming here for my husband’s birthday. Also my 3 year old and 7 month old kids were up WAY past their bedtime since dinner ended around 10pm. Will not be back.

Wait time (an hour) to be seated WITH a reservation was unacceptable. Had it not been my niece’s birthday, and her desire to stay, I would have left within fifteen minutes. Especially since there was no communication from the host regarding why we needed to wait or any follow-up during the one hour wait time. Once seated our waitress was prompt efficient. Our cook did a wonderful job and the food too was also good. Atmosphere was blah and we will not be returning.

I confirmed a reservation as being late . We were 20 minutes late the hostess greeted us with ,”if you were this late on a busy night you’d have to wait.” We were like really ,so rude ! We walk into be seated and we were the only 3 people in the entire restaurant at 5:00 on a Wednesday. Empty ! So we got a rude greeting for no reason .
Waited 15-20 min for a drink from the bar nobody was here .
Our chef guy was personable friendly and entertaining. He did the best he could . Then A mark up for fried rice ?? Are you kidding me ! Portion size cut down considerably. But price was inflated . Very Small scallops 5-6 . My fillet was horrible fatty ,chewy to be honest it didn’t taste like a filet ? I could not finish it . The rice was good I paid extra for it so it shoulda been ! What a lame thing to do !
They asked if we were celebrating anything we said my daughters 18th BD – why ask they did nothing no singing no nothing totally uneventful. We have not been there in awhile we use to love it , we will never return . We will go back to our favorite Hibachi in collingswood . High prices cheap steaks !

Terrible experience! We were exactly on time for our reservation and still had to wait twenty minutes. After being seated we did not get our order taken for another 15-20 minutes. Finally, an hour later our salad came out and never saw a waiter or chef for another half hour. So, we’re seated for over an hour and the manager said they were short staffed and it was going to be awhile before we saw a chef. We just finally left without eating. We will never be back.
