Finally tried this place and had a wonderful day. John made our brunch date even more meaningful date with small talk. His family makes people happy with perfectly cooked food. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the other dishes were cooked really well too. The 2nd son, Dmitri is a passionate and talented chef.

I’ve been wanting to go to this diner for such a long time it’s now been marked off my bucket list of New Jersey diners. I had to go to first time there. I had the trucker special breakfast. The Bacon was cooked perfectly. The eggs were cooked perfectly. the pancakes were probably the fluffiest pancakes I’ve ever had. My mom ordered a salad a Cobb salad it was probably one of the best salads. She said she’s ever had on top of that. I really really want people to know. Yes, it’s a very small diner, but the parking lot even smaller, but you need to add this to your bucket list. You need to stop by here one time and have some food 10/10 100/100 YOU MUST GO TO THIS DINER

this place is so cool! original interior from 1945, a historic place! and the guy has been working there since 1993, so friendly and welcoming. not to mention all the food we got was delicious. so glad i dropped by on my way to the hackensack hospital.

This is a hidden Gem. Do not be fooled by outside looks of this restaurant the inside is very clean, the service is great and the food was amazing. I would have to say that by far this has been the best diner I have eaten at. Again I will say the food was amazing and very affordable. I was surprised at the amount of food served, the amazing taste and the price. Every time i travel to New Jersey I have to stop by and eat.

My wife, son, & I were in town for a wedding. We stayed at a nearby hotel and wanted to try a local place for breakfast/brunch. We were intrigued by the outside appearance of Bendix Diner. I Read some reviews online and everyone had great things to say about the food. We Decided to give it a try. We ordered the trucker special, steak & eggs, and a cheeseburger. The young man was very attentive to us, service was excellent, food was amazing, price was very reasonable & John the owner was very witty with a unique sense of humor. Overall we were highly satisfied. If we’re ever in town again we will absolutely pop in for a bite. There are so many great food items on their menu. Thank you.

Awesome retro diner that hasn’t changed since it opened in the ’40s! The food is fantastic – absolutely perfect eggs, home fries, and bacon – but the owner just takes the experience to another level! He’s a hilarious (blind) man who provides superb service, along with a healthy dose of both self-deprecating and teasing jokes. Will definitely be back very soon!!

Had a quick day trip to the area and many people suggested this restaurant! The vibe was very retro at this American diner. The breakfast was fine, large portion, nothing crazy. The best part of the visit to Bendix was meeting the man who served us. A legally blind man who kept us laughing with his wit and great jokes! He was an absolute delight.

I love this place! It’s like going to the Cheers bar where everyone knows each other and they’re ribbing each other and enjoying life! The food is great and the proportions are large and the prices are perfect! John is awesome and took care of us and made sure everything was going well and made sure that we were content and happy! I’m definitely going to go again and you should too! 🙂

We stopped by as we’re big Bleachers fans and were in the area for the first time. Lovely little diner with tasty food. We had the cheese sampler, corn beef hash and banana pancakes and all were really good. Service was friendly and personable. We would definitely go back!
