We LOVE this place. Great Pizza, excellent Chicken Piccata and spot on Bolognese. Cute place with lots of windows. Nice wine program. Service was excellent. Superstar Ani even remembered us from last year. Have been here at least 5 times on our annual visit to Boston. Can’t wait for 2026!

As North End residents for the past 6 years, Bencotto has been our favorite restaurant. We have tried all the places around and bencotto by far has the best food and prices. The food is always amazing and never disappointed. Whenever we have someone visiting, we take them here. The staff is very nice, especially Anni. Highly recommend!!

The Italian food here was genuinely disappointing. The pesto pasta was dry and completely lacking flavor, and the Bianco pizza tasted worse than Domino’s cheese bread. It was honestly upsetting. If an Italian restaurant can’t deliver flavor, something is seriously wrong. Management should take a hard look at the kitchen and fix the recipes. Italian food should taste rich and home-cooked, not rushed and microwaved. Other than that, the service was friendly, and the hostess was nice as well.

We stopped in here during our trolley tour, definitely a game time decision on somewhere for lunch but wow we weren’t disappointed. I order the carbonara pasta and my husband got the saint agrippina pizza. He said it was the best pizza he has ever had, my pasta was phenomenal. We got a bottle of wine, great service, no wait. It was such a nice lunch! Would definitely go back again

first time in boston and was told to try italian food on the north end so i picked out this place. to be honest im not a pasta or ravioli person but the lobster ravioli was great! i got the appetizer size. i also got the fig salad which was great and for drinks i got the bencotto punch. service was amazing too, the female bartender was so so sweet.

The ambiance was cool, and we sat by the window, which was very nice and felt great. The drinks weren’t shaken, so they weren’t cold enough—which was odd to me.

For the appetizer, we ordered the Caesar salad. It was refreshing, but not anything special.

For the mains, I had the eggplant pizza, which was very good. The lasagna, however, was a little flavorless and was served with meatballs that were just okay. The fusilli amatriciana was delicious, but it was far too oily.Overall, we enjoyed both the food and the ambiance, but everything could have been better.

I stopped by Bencotto while exploring Boston’s North End, and it felt like a cozy Italian spot right in the middle of the neighborhood’s busy restaurant scene. The place has a relaxed trattoria vibe with a casual dining room and an open kitchen, which makes the atmosphere lively but still comfortable.

I tried one of their pasta dishes, and it was rich and satisfying. The menu focuses on classic Italian comfort food like homemade pasta, seafood dishes, lasagna, and brick-oven pizza, so it’s a great place if you’re craving traditional Italian flavors.

The restaurant is located on Hanover Street, one of the main streets in the North End, so it’s usually busy with both locals and tourists. The casual atmosphere and generous portions make it a nice stop for lunch or dinner while walking around Boston’s Little Italy.

Overall: Bencotto is a solid Italian restaurant in the North End—great for classic pasta, pizza, and a relaxed dining experience in one of Boston’s most famous food neighborhoods.

We made a reservation and came here for dinner. It was a warm muggy night in Boston. The restaurant has a good amount of seating. The windows open to give you the open air feel. Not to mention give you a cross breeze.

The service was good. The food was very good. We absolutely loved the pizza and salad. The portion sizes were good. We were able to take leftovers home for another meal. My only comment is you could feel the heat from the kitchen, with minimal airflow it was a warm evening. Our table was right by the window that was open. All that being said it was definitely a good spot for dinner.

I keep coming back to this restaurant. Fantastic waitstaff! Very knowledgeable about the menu and attentive to the customer. I saw at the bar yesterday and I had the ‘seafood medley’. Fresh shrimp, calamari, and mussels. Come here for a fantastic dining experience in the North End.

Visited Bencotto for some Italian food. The food was good, had various pasta dishes and they were good portions. The waiter was very friendly. The atmosphere was good too, it was interesting because when we got there they took us into the back corner of the restaurant to some steps going downstairs to the basement to eat…glad there was someone else down there or we may have been worried (kind of kidding), then many more showed up.
