Belly of the beast
I got 1/4lb brisket, 1/4lb bacon burnt ends, the honey cornbread, and the street corn salad. My husband got the brisket sandwich and the coleslaw. Food came out very quickly and looked amazing and pretty Instagram perfect. Brisket was very good, nice smoke ring and very smooth slices. The burnt ends are little delicious flavor bombs. Their barbecue sauce is one of the better kinds I have tried at BBQ restaurants. It’s thinner than say the bottled stuff from grocery stores, it’s sweet and tangy with a little spice but not too much. Honey cornbread was delicious and calmed the spicy tang of bbq sauce. Corn salad had good flavors and would be very nice during summer. Husband said his sandwich was 8/10 and he gave that score because he said the bun was a little dry but everything else was spot on. Coleslaw was very good, nice flavor and one of the crispiest cabbage slaws I’ve ever had. Went there end of January and it wasn’t busy. Owner was there and was very friendly and down to earth.

Wow! I didn’t have to go down south to enjoy some really good smoked pork belly – the burnt ends. Amazingly good. The sauce was spot on. Very friendly. You won’t be disappointed. Just wish my husband was still here to try it. He would have loved it!

Noticed it on our way to Butterfields for ice cream, took a chance the next day for dinner and wow we were not disappointed! This place already has a cult following with the locals in Dover-Foxcroft and should be on everyone’s radar that goes to Peaks-Kenny either at the end of the day or as a break in mid week camp meal prep.
Great atmosphere, down to earth staff, plenty of family style tables and the food…all the food was spot on. Was not a single item we tried that wasn’t perfectly smoked, cooked or prepped. 10/10 barbecue restaurant in Dover-Foxcroft.

Went here on Friday for the first time and let me tell you it won’t be the last! My husband and I got the beast nachos and they were some of the best food I have ever eaten at a restaurant period. Definitely come give Belly of the Beast a try if you love bbq!!!

The place was very clean. The staff was friendly. The beef brisket was cooked just right, nice and tender, not dryed out. The loaded potato was well loaded. The only negative is the parking, limited spaces.

Based on my recent experience, I cannot recommend Belly of the Wolf. I ordered a steak and it was supposed to come with sweet potatoes. The steak was 2 to 3 ounce filet, one Small bite of a sweet potato, and the plate was covered with a salty gravy – the $76 meal plus tax and tip assigned by the restaurant totaled &106 .
Normally, I eat steak at LONGHORN Where I always order the 6 ounce Flo filet, broccoli and baked sweet potato – $25 plus tax and the tip is my choice (usually $20). The steak is always consistent in quality and taste.
Maybe other food on the menu is ok but this first experience was not enjoyable. I could not finish the steak due to the salt. One person in our party did not get their sweet potato side. The person was told “they ran out”.

Generous amount of brisket on the sandwich order. Pork burnt ends were delicious too. My brother said the Mac and cheese was so good.

Hands down the best BBQ around and the service is amazing!!!! I forgot to say I wanted the sandwiches which is an up charge. They gave us them anyway. So I threw extra in the tip jar. The food is made fast too. The pickled onions…:wow! I can’t recommend them enough!!!!!
