Belissamo delivers outstanding food — seriously, the dishes were so good I almost applauded the kitchen. Everything was seasoned perfectly and beautifully prepared.
But the service? That’s where things slipped. Our server was clearly overwhelmed and rushing all night. The restaurant was packed, and clearly they were understaffed, which created a chaotic atmosphere ♀️The order was correct, but one of our guests was autistic and needed a bit more explanation. Instead of offering , patience or clarity, the server became annoyed, and more flustered, which made the experience feel tense, awkward and uncoordinated.
With food this good, Belissamo has the potential to be a standout. But better staffing and more compassionate, attentive service would make a huge difference.
Let’s start with the food. We dined during restaurant week and had to choose 3 courses. The appetizers were mediocre and I could’ve had a better salad at Panera. Most of the table ordered gnocchi or salmon pasta. The gnocchi was reminiscent of chef boyardee and there was almost no salmon in the pasta. It also took incredibly long to get our food. We ended up taking the dessert home. The gelato was freezer burnt, the cheesecake tough and rubbery, and the rest were average.
We came to celebrate my 85 year old grandmother who survived Polish communism; however, could barely survive this meal in the cold. There was NO HEAT and the outside temperature was 16 degrees. We all wore coats, scarves and those who brought gloves, wore them. For a $750 meal (we still tipped 20%) it was a joke!!! Never ever waste your money.
We had an anniversary dinner here and enjoyed the food very much. We ordered appetizers Burrata ( excellent), salad (good), lamb shanks (excellent), veal (excellent), chocolate mousse (excellen) and tiramisu (excellent). Definitely will come back again to try other food.
Dined there last night and we are still talking about how good the food was.
Service was attentive without being overbearing. Atmosphere was a mix of fine dining without being pretentious ( we were in travel clothes and didn’t feel out of place).
Perfect date night restaurant!
Prices were not bad either, I had the lamb and it was $35 which is a deal.
Wife and daughter both had seafood pasta dishes which I tried/tested….excellent.
Shared Carpachio and later cheesecake.
Again perfect place to go and not break the bank and look good doing it.
