We visited at 1200 noon, and were one of three other customers. There are approximately twenty tables situated for relative privacy and comfort, including several intimate situations, and a long table which might seat up to twenty. Tables are tastefully prepared, napkins nicely folded with matching tableware.
The appointments of the room are tasteful, with wine bottles, oil paintings, and artful display pieces to successfully bring about the atmosphere of a traditional small Italian restaurant.
The service was instantaneous and energetic without being particularly intrusive. The waiter kept our glasses full and was attentive to any indication we might need or want something.
We ordered from a three page menu offering a wide variety of complex Italian dishes. She chose a pasta and cheese dish, with side salad, while I chose a sausage arrabbiata with pasta and salad. The appearance of the dishes served was tasteful. The portions were reasonable and generous. Flavor was outstanding, seasoned well with fragrant olive oil, garlic and herbs, old world spicy, but not so that it burnt the tongue. The bread rolls served were warm, fresh, and decidedly Italian.
She said this is now her favorite restaurant in Llano, Tx. If in the Llano area seeking a good meal in a relaxed atmosphere, I recommend Bella Sera.
On top of that, the customer service was outstanding. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. You can tell they really care about their guests.
I’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend Bella Sera to anyone looking for great food and great service.
The wine was delicious and sweet tea tastes like sweet dirty water, and the waitress was excellent.
The food was dull and lifeless.
Started with the calamari since it said fresh. Well, it is not fresh, and was tough., rubbery, as well as over salty.
The side salad was just that, a side salad boring.
The bread I requested was tough. And if it was garlic bread then it was missing the garlic and butteriness I was expecting for this place.
I ordered the Shrimp Florentine, which came hot, but it was flavorless. Shrimp was so tough and obviously overcooked. Where is the pasta? Oh it’s covered by way too much sauce.
I won’t be coming back to this place during my frequent visits. Sorry, not sorry!
I also spent a lot of time speaking with the owner. He is a very friendly guy and I could hear his passion for his restaurant in the way he talks about it. I can, without a doubt, say, that if something is not to your liking or is messed up, they will make it right. I see these other reviews on here and I bet they didn’t bring it up to anyone before writing a review.
My daughter ordered the cheese ravioli and when she realized there were 3 GIANT raviolis in there instead of a bunch of little ones, she was excited. They tasted phenomenal. She scarfed them down before I could grab a picture.
We also got a simple pepperoni pizza and that was awesome as well.
I got a side of meatballs to try. The ONLY thing I would suggest to them is they should add more seasoning to their meatballs. They are juicy and tender. They just needed a little more flavor. But that’s not a big deal at all. I’m sure they are great covered in sauce.
All in all, I’m glad I was finally able to give them a try. We WILL be back.
I had the Bella Sera Chicken Sauteed with fresh basil, garlic, sun dried tomatoes kalamata olive & capers in lemon sauce over spaghetti and it was so delicious. Drew had the Pasta Combo; Lasagna, manicotti, cannelloni, ziti & tortellini pasta baked in tomato sauce & topped with mozzarella cheese & he added chicken, Tony had Sausage Arrabiata with Sliced Italian sausage, fresh garlic, basil, tomatoes & onions over ziti pasta & Mine & Tony’s were great the next day for lunch … lots of food means LEFTOVERS!!! We had the same server both times (Blair) is a fantastic waiter/server… we will be back again soon! Thanks!
We calamari appetizer that were perfectly fried and seasoned just right.
We split a 16” New York pizza with pepperoni. Plenty for 2 people with slices left to take home.
