Social Profile:

In 1979, three brothers expanded this building adding on to Bud’s Hillcrest Drive-In Café. They opened Ferrell’s Belgian Waffle Inn in December, 1979. Jeff Wilhelmsen started as a cook in early 1980 with the hopes of someday owning it. And his dream became reality on July 1, 1980, when he purchases it and changed the name to The Belgian Waffle & Omelet Inn.

Homey American diner fare, from omelets to pot roast, served 24/7 in casual, old-fashioned digs.

Very good! Came in for breakfast on two separate occasions. Has the waffle breakfast the 1st time and French toast the second. Both times were great! Coffee wasn’t amazing, but a small non-issue. Prices were great. Food was tasty. And open 23 hours. Definitely worth a try!

The food is so good! And the service is exceptional—about 60 of us flooded the place after an event in the area because we heard it was excellent, and they handled it like pros and served us amazingly. 10/10 recommend.

For starters the place is dated! I felt like I went back in time to an old restaurant, in a bad way. It felt musty and crumbly.

First lemme start by saying AMAZING SERVICE. The waitress was super friendly and kind. The restaurant itself wasn’t the cleanest, I have been multiple times to this place and this is probably the worst its been. The food wasn’t up to par like how they used to be. I got my same order, Waffle with strawberries and cream and it was okay. The waffle was dry and hard. The Garbage hash was just huge chunks of potatoes this time as well.

Sadly this place isn’t what it use to be. The place has always looked a little run down but the food usually made up for it. The waitresses were super nice which is the only reason for my 2 stars. The place was freezing cold everyone inside had to wear their coats. The staff didn’t say anything about about it being cold. The food was 3/10 at best. The French toast I ordered was gross no flavor yet the middle looked like raw egg, the biscuits and gravy was dry and undercooked, the wheat toast was burnt to a crisp. Someone in the kitchen was listening to an audiobook or news show really loud.

I’m very disappointed in this place. First the name would catch any interested person’s attention but the building goodness. Renovation is needed. Walking into the entrance my first thoughts trash. The owner doesn’t care. From the floor to the ceiling it needs upgrade. The smell is not what I expected. The staff well it looks like they pulled them out of bed. The food. Come on you have a product that is great. The cook isn’t a cook. He or she doesn’t care about how it’s made. I will not come back until I see changes. Basically this place has potential but people stop caring. Recommendations is this place isn’t worth the visit.

Positive points: this place has the HOMIEST atmosphere. I’d compare it to the diner in “Groundhog Day”. You can tell the staff has been there a long time, and loves it. When the waitress heard that it was our first time there, she basically ordered for us, which I loved. (We got the garbage hash with basted eggs and a waffle with strawberries and whipped cream.) And the coffee was decently strong.

The waitstaff here is great and very attentive. They did a great job with a crowded restaurant.

I’m super disappointed. Gave this place two tries recently because of the nostalgia. It was a place I enjoyed as a kid at times, and as a young adult late at night. Quality of the food has crashed horribly. Either super sweet or super salty. This time by the time we got our food it was cold. The chicken fried steak seemed to have been marinated in oil, it was soggy. The gravy was super salty. The French toast would have been good if it wasn’t so cold. Sausage was so salty it was gross. Employees are friendly, but the service is slow and they roll silver in the middle of the dining room no matter how busy they are. The decore, shy of a few lights on the wall hasn’t changed since the 80’s. This place needs an overhaul, badly.

My friends recommended we get a late night order of this instead of Dominos. I’m gluten free so an omelet is about all I can have off the menu, but it still sounded good. And it was… until I kept getting some crunch. Turns out I had chunks of egg shell in my omelet. I stopped eating it after I found this bit that was as big as the cubed ham
