Quite possibly the worst food I’ve ever eaten in my life. I decided to give it a second try because the first time I had it I had got sesame chicken and it was just pure disgusting and had lettuce at the bottom like it was McDonald’s lettuce. the chicken was low quality chicken that was barely cooked to standard and I could tell its freezer burnt and just yuck. I would never eat here again no matter what it is. The rice is the only good thing but it taste like 3 to 4 days old. Please do not eat here. It is actually disgusting as a bearing resident do not.

11/1/24- decided to give this place another try chicken fried rice was flavorful and sweet and sour soup was delicious. Sauce used for fried rice is different than what I’ve usually seen so it might not be for everyone. I’ve been told the beef fried rice is really good. Will try it next time. No seating, Take out only.

2018- We have been to this place twice and recently ordered take out because we didn’t want to drive to Niles. Disgusting orange chicken. Nothing has changed, this place is awful. I have no idea how they are still in business. Their lo mein, fried rice are flavorless and their service is slow.

I don’t understand the countless negative reviews to be honest. We ordered Mongolian beef, Kung pao shrimp, and a vegetable soup, and everything not only met but exceeded our expectations. Everything was very obviously cooked fresh, came out nice and hot, and tasted absolutely amazing. The shrimp was much spicier than I’d expected, but nothing that I’d call a deal breaker personally. The lady behind the counter seemed very nice, and was very polite when I was there. This place deserves a lot more praise than it’s been receiving, I’ll definitely be returning!

Love this place. The taste is amazing!

I always get the Mongolian beef, garlic chicken little spicy, veg egg roles… honestly I have tried most of the menu. It truly tastes very good.

I would give it a zero if I could. It was awful. The crab ragoons were fried in old oil and the inside tasted tangy, the sesame chicken had lettuce in the bottom, the chicken and broccoli was rubbery, and the lo mein tasted burnt. Three people tried each dish and we threw it right out.

I’m not really sure why the ratings swing so much. Most people give either 1 star or 5. I am genuinely surprised that anyone could give this place more than 3 stars. The vegetables are NOT stir-fried but boiled and then placed in a “sauce” that is gelatinous. I think it was salt, water, and corn starch but can’t be sure. Utterly disgusting. The sweet and sour Tofu was swimming in a red sauce that was nothing like any sweet n sour I’ve had before and not in a good way. The tofu itself was not cooked nicely so it was kinda rubbery. It also taked of old vegetable oil. The chicken fried rice has no egg and the chicken was cut up so small that first we thought that they had left out the chicken and it was the egg we were seeing. It was just opposite I’m fact. The sauce they cooked the rice in was mostly just dark soy sauce so the fried rice was almost black in color and very salty. Again, nothing like any other fried rice I’d ever seen.
The service was rude on both phone and in person.
I’m giving it 2 stars because it was cheap and most it was eaten. We didn’t get sick from it (as one reviewer said they did). I’m probably being generous with the 2 stars…
It’s cheap but it’s still a waste of money.

P.S. take out only. Dine in not offered.

I ordered the Sweet & Sour Tofu vegetarian dish. It was a pleasant combination of pineapple, tomatoes, and bell peppers in a tangy sauce that was a little more on the sweet side. The tofu was just crispy enough to still be soft. The staff was nice, and they have a pleasant seating setup. This was my first visit, and I would go again. The only thing I’d like is if the portions were somewhat more generous for the price.

Ordered sweet n sour tofu. Fried rice. Veggie spring roll. It was all good

The only thing is that it takes them some time because they are older people 68 and up.

If you are an AU student wishing that Hot Wok was a little closer to home, let me tell you Beijin Palace won’t fill that void. I got a couple different things as take out for me and my roommate, one vegetarian and one chicken, and neither of us were able to stomach our meals. I found the texture to be… gelatinous? And the food was pretty bland. Maybe there are tastier things on the menu, but we struck out hard enough to not want to return. I really have to wonder how this place has stayed open so long.
