For the life of me I don’t know why pizza places don’t just offer breadsticks the way Olive Garden does. We waited around 40 minutes for our food, and sure, we could’ve ordered appetizers, but we were already looking at about $60 for a signature thin crust that was recommended to us. For a table of two, once you add drinks and tip, it gets a bit pricey when you can just go down the street to Little Caesar’s and get a pretty decent pizza for seven dollars.
The dining room felt cramped, the tables were divided but the next family was maybe 2–3 feet away, so everyone can pretty much hear your whole conversation. Takeout might be the better option.
The music was modern, but suddenly we were listening to K-pop demon-hunter style tracks, which didn’t feel like something everyone would enjoy while eating pizza.
last but not least, you’re probably waiting for the actual food review. we ordered the onion, mushroom, and sausage combination on the signature thin crust. it was good. the edges were a little burnt, and the slices were cut into squares, so you already know everyone goes straight for the middle pieces. I didn’t dare add extra toppings because I wasn’t sure if it would drown out the flavor.
overall, it was good, but I’ve had better from villa pizza in mattoon and sullivan. the cheese was cheesy without going overboard. the sausage was okay, but they don’t offer italian sausage, which is kind of what you expect on a pizza like this. honestly, if you want to try the beggar’s pizza, just pay the $7 from the gas station for a slice.

The restaurant is large. When you walk in, you order at the counter. After ordering, you seat yourself. The restaurant had one person in the entire facility who was a customer . There were people located in the takeout section of the building. There are no special or discounted meals on the menu . On Wednesdays, you can choose to buy a slice of pizza that has sausage, bell peppers , and onion. The slice was delicious .. I went back to purchase an additional slice. I bought two slices, which were about $5 each. You can not get the slices at your seat. You must obtain the slice of pizza in the take-out section. For dine-in, I don’t recommend any of the restaurants . However, take out I do!

I ordered a large pizza and waited over 2 hours for delivery. When the driver finally arrived, he never came down to knock on the door and simply drove away. My phone had died, so I missed the call, but that is no excuse for such poor service. Any professional delivery driver should get out of the car and knock, as is standard for food delivery.
This was a complete waste of time and an extremely disappointing experience. I will not be ordering from here again.

So disappointed I came to the Kedzie location with a hungry group after a day of sledding with the kids. I have been coming to this location for years. This is the only time I received a bad pizza. I mean terrible. I don’t understand. There was barely any meat, sauce and the cheese was weird. The kids were really hungry and okay with it. The appetizers were fine. I choose not to complain but I just couldn’t let this slide. I decided to take pictures too late. This has shaken my confidence in ordering again.

I grew up in BI. They have forgotten what made them arguably the best in Chicago. All the slogans they have on the pie box is now fodder. “We lay it on thick” “May your cheese pull be epic” Big cheese. This was brought up when placing my previous/last order because we haven’t been getting the cheese or any sauce. Just a dry pizza that tastes frozen. Get rid of the slogans. You guys don’t make pizza like that anymore. False advertisement! The pizza was eaten because we were hungry!

Was recommended by a local, as I was visiting (Floridian here!) AND they did not disappoint! The owner even stepped in after I placed my order after overhearing my dilemma (which type pizza do I get?) and helped me dial in a choice…I went with why I originally came, CHICAGO STYLE BABY!!! GO BEGGARS!

This Beggars is my favorite location, they have the nicest people working and are always willing to help. The food is always ready on time and so delicious. Slices are always available and ready so it makes it quick and easy to grab a slice! Definitely the pizza place to check out! Food is always good, specially the deep dish pizza!
