I took my grandparents out for Valentine’s Day. Even though we live right in town, I had never been here before — but they had. I love steak, so I had to give this place a try, and it was 100% the best experience I’ve ever had at a steakhouse. The bar was amazing, and the wine she recommended was perfect. Was very good food. I ordered shrimp Alfredo, and it was delicious all homemade!! The taste of the cream was really very good, even the noodles were homemade. Our waitress was a little busy, but it was Valentines Day. I think there was only one server working yesterday for the whole place. Wasn’t busy though with only three tables that had already been there. When I walked in and stood there for five minutes, then the server asked if I had been helped when I obviously hadn’t. I asked for a menu and made it known I was unsure if I was going to order but would be at the bar if I did decide. No acknowledgement of my statement while I was handed a menu. I decided I wanted to order but wasn’t spoken to again, asked if I wanted anything to drink after sitting there for seven minutes. A couple other people came in and were seated and greeted immediately. A couple minutes later they were asked their drink order, at which point I got up and left. Never been so pissed at a restaurant before. I was in the establishment a total of 15 minutes. I went to Texas Hot instead and was very happy.

I went in with my nephew for some food. The waitress, Kristen I believe was her name, was very friendly. I ordered the hot roast beef sandwich with mashed and gravy with the roast beef medium and it was delicious. I’m happy to know that when I order roast beef here, I actually have a choice in how done I want it. It was a geat experience and I will recommend this place to many people.

Four of the six meals were beef based. All four were very tough and stringy beef. Very unusual for this restaurant based on past experience. Someone in the kitchen should have noticed the quality of that roast before serving it.
The waitress was Noticeably absent for most of the meal. One customer from our party had to go to the bar to simply get a second beer.

The “blooming onion” was terrific, as was the mushroom Swiss burger and the bun seemed either homemade or locally made as it didn’t get mushy from the juicy burger. Fries were super crisp and arrived piping hot. Waitress was friendly and checked in often.

We held our 50th Scio high school class reunion at the Beef Haus on Saturday 7/26/2025 and everything – food, service, location – exceeded our expectations! We met with Kristen a few weeks ago to plan the menu and select the rooms we would use and were excited to have her serve our group throughout our evening there. I wholeheartedly recommend that you consider the Beef Haus for your event as I am confident they will provide an excellent experience and you will the pleased with your decision!

New owners fall short. I order the same thing all the time and every time I get inconsistent pricing and product. For example sometimes the baked beans are like soup and the next they are thick and dry. Same with German potato salad. Obviously they don’t train very well and your meal will be different depending on who makes it. They only cook your burgers Rare or well done..? What’s up with that must be to hard to cook a burger Medium..? I miss the old owners and it’s a shame.
