Walking downtown I’ve passed by this restaurant a number of times and at first glance looking through the windows I thought it was a Asian place for a quick bite to eat on the go. I was wrong. Don’t let the window view from the street of the kitchen area deceive you. Inside is a full sit down restaurant and bar. We saw a reservation and our table was ready and waiting for us when we arrived. The waitress explained the menu and specials. Food is meant to be shared by the table. We started we’d cocktails. They have a nice selection on their cocktail menu and absolutely LOVED the once I got; The Tyger with ginger bourbon, apricot, lemon, cinnamon, and cashew orgeat. In addition to cocktails they offer wines, beer, sake and non alcoholic beverages. We started with the salt and pepper chicken wings. SOOO good! They were crispy without being super crunchy or dried out. Moist chicken inside great flavor with the batter and seasonings. My mistake the waitress brought us crab Rangoon which we didn’t order but absolutely loved. Their version is deconstructed with the crab in a whipped dip with cream cheddar served n the side with a giant portion of wonton crisps and sweet chili sauce. A very enjoyable mistake. On to an order of dumplings. Also very tasty. Finished with General Tso’s chicken. Another flavorful and tasty dish. Overall we enjoyed everything we tried and will definitely be back.

Had the most amazing meal at Beautiful South! You know when you enter the front door and the first thing you see is ribs hanging in the front kitchen window that you are in the right place. Our server Damien was incredibly personable and kind and made sure our food came out as hot and fast as possible. The ginger chicken dish blew us away and was one of our favorite dishes of the night! You cannot go wrong with any of their dishes though! All were incredible!

My first time going and it was just to experience happy hour. I went pretty early and I must say I love the ambiance with the dim lighting and it is beautifully decorated. The staff was very friendly and the happy hour menu is small but it has some pretty good item selections. I got the crab ragoon and the scallion oil noodles. Two dumplings are included with your drink selection, so that was pretty cool. All in all I enjoyed everything I got and I will be back to try some entrees.

This place is 10/10 each time I go. The atmosphere and the overall vibe of the place complement the amazing food just perfectly. I have been able to get seated early for my reservation or was able to enjoy time at the bar with the happy hour cocktail each time I have visited. All of the staff are personable and easy to chat with if you need. My favorite dishes are the scallion oil noodles with the cucumbers (they are so crunchy every time) with their Kosmos to drink.

Wow! Even just walking in the ambiance and lighting are perfect. The menu selections- it was hard to pick guaranteeing a second visit to try what we didn’t get. Lots of vegan options and fun drinks. Definitely try the sticky rice dumplings and the general tsos tofu, it was really yum! Definitely will be back.

Beautiful South by Kwei Fei is a must visit! The menu blends bold south of the Yangtze flavors with the comfort of American style Chinese classics, and every bite was fantastic. The highlight for me was the Crab Rangoon — served in a creative deconstructed style, perfectly crispy, and hands down the best I’ve ever had. The dry rubbed ribs, General Tso’s Chicken, and char siu pork lo mein were all fresh and flavorful.
They also have a great mocktail selection. I loved the Foshan and This Side of Paradise. The atmosphere is fun, the staff is friendly, and the food quality is outstanding!

When I could smell the food walking in I knew it was going to be good. But the main reason I’m writing this review is we were celebrating my daughter’s 3rd birthday. When they poured her water into the same small glass as the adults, I knew this restaurant wouldn’t technically qualify as kid friendly.
But upon revealing it was her birthday. The waitress said we typically offer a birthday mocktail for the kids. Now the bartender could have just made a Shirley temple and called it a day, but he came to the table asked what flavors she likes and delivered her drink in a small blue glass complete with a fancy orange rind garnish.
Now my daughter’s head barely could see over the table but she loved that drink and that level of service I have never seen before. And oh yeah the food is delicious.

All around great experience! Crab Rangoon is the best I’ve ever had. It actually has real crabmeat! Smoked duck was delicious and drinks were tasty!

I had heard great reviews about Beautiful South Restaurant so on our visit to Charleston we decided to go there to celebrate our 50 th wedding anniversary. What a pleasant experience from the start. We were greeted at the door by the manager Melissa and lead to our table. We started with a Champagne toast. I also ordered a Jasmine Tea which came in a cute little tea pot. I love that the tea stayed hot, which many times is cold after the first cup.
I think we ordered one of everything and with that said it was hard to pick a favorite. My husband’s favorite was the Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings and SHANGHAI-STYLE CUCUMBERS.
Chelsea our server was friendly and spot on.
Melissa came by our table and wished us a Happy 50 th and asked how everything was, and received only praise from us.
Definitely our first stop on our next visit. Can’t wait to tell our friends back home about our 5 star dining experience.

The team was very accommodating due to the fact that we had 3 unexpected flight delays. Once we arrived, we were able i enjoy a nice intimate birthday dinner. Morgan was our server. She was attentive. She anticipated our wants before we asked. 10/10 recommend. It was our first visit but it won’t be our last.
