The outside of the building is unassuming, but inside is amazing. Staff is super friendly with a hey yall greeting. Started with the gravy cheese fries, continued with the onion rings and then the roast beef and fried shrimp poboy. Had to order more to go!! So good. Height recommend

Get. The. Onion. Rings. I got the Ferdie, wife got the shrimp both were great. The food did take a little longer than expected to come out, but you can tell it’s made to order. It was worth the wait. Staff was friendly and conversational. Parking was a little difficult, but it was also lunch time.

Roast beef poboy was good. Didn’t have all that brown gravy. They use au jus which to me taste like season beef broth. I will try the sausage and alligator poboy next time

We wanted to try a new to us poboy place and Bears kept coming up on lists of the best, so we decided to give it a try. The parking is kind of difficult. You have to park under the bridge, and it’s a free for all. Luckily, we found a spot. We went at opening and got a table easily. The service here is terrific. We told them it was our first visit and they were so happy to have us. By the time we left, it was a full house and I really thinj the service is a big part of that. The restaurant itself is small but cute, clean and comfortable. I got the roast beef poboy which was tender and delicious. My friend got an oyster poboy and let me try it. Holy smokes! Do it. Order it. The oysters were so big and tasted divine! Just a top tier poboy all the way. But the onion rings. OMG. The best. Light, crispy, and so many! All in all, it was a fantastic meal. Definitely will be back!

The poboy was good, the onion rings were a little greasy. A little pricey though. Nice small town type atmosphere. I’d return if I’m in the area again.

This restaurant is a must for us when we are in the area. The Ferdie is delicious! The NOLA Burger is so good that my husband had it two days in a row. The prices are very reasonable and you get a lot. Its not crowded, and there is parking across the street.

I have wanted to try Bear’s for a while so I made the hour drive from Baton Rouge to see what a lot of people claimed as the best. I wasn’t disappointed!
One of the best Roast Beef PoBoys in the city. Small and busy/crowded place. My server was nice, but the food takes a while. They warn you ahead of time, claiming that it may be 30-45 minutes.
Well, it was worth the wait… one of the best PoBoys I’ve had in a while. The bread was great. The sandwich was overstuffed with tender roast beef and covered with juicy debris.
