Our visit started off with very slow service. It took a little while to be greeted and we waited for quite a while before we were seated. We decided to sit outside. Once seated our server recommended we order an appetizer because our meals may take a little while to come out. Our server was very nice and helpful with recommendations. We decided to get the cheese curds. They were very good. We were not in a hurry so we enjoyed the beautiful views and scenery while we waited. We even had time to make friends with Jumper the restaurant dog! The food did not take as long as we expected to come out and we all enjoyed everything we ordered. My children got the chicken wrap and fried chicken sandwich both with fries. My husband got the ruben sandwich and I got the steak sandwich both with onion rings. The onion rings were possibly the best I have ever had. We really enjoyed this restaurant and we will definitely visit again. I would recommend visiting when you are not in a hurry.

they’re only three other tables plus me and the weight was over 40 minutes to get food. The brisket was chewy and the asparagus was stringy. The restaurant is underneath a lodge convention hall. There is absolutely no insulation between the dance floor and the ceiling of the restaurant. You hear every footsteps of the people dancing and distorted base from the speakers. Kinda like you’re sitting next to somebody in a car with a loud stereo. The road that leads to the restaurant is very narrow and is not lit at night. I almost got stuck on the side of the road trying to get out of the way of oncoming traffic. The restaurant itself is cute. It has minimum very basic menu it does serve breakfast. It is small and holds maybe 50 people inside but then it’s got outside seating which now in the winter time up in the mountains is it gonna be too comfortable unless it’s sunny. Free wifi.

Did a google search and found this lodge and restaurant for breakfast. We needed a place to eat with family from out of town. Food and service was excellent. Did not rush us out so we could enjoy the view and company.

In a spontaneous family brunch with kids and grandparents, we had the loveliest time with the loveliest views, the loveliest servers, and the loveliest plates. It was a millionaire dollar view and none of the stuffy feel that sometimes can come with. Next time we’ll stay the night in the lodge and give it a try for dinner and drinks. It’s a trek but worth it!

Friendly staff, lovely breakfast and an amazing view! The service was quite slow due to a wedding party being present and there only being one member of staff there but we got the impression this wasn’t the usual case!

This place exceeded my expectations. We went for breakfast and the food was absolutely delicious. They have the best breakfast sausage I’ve ever had. The coffee
was perfect. The views are incredible and our waitress was so nice and welcoming. I was visiting from Texas and I’m so glad we found this hidden gem through a Google search. It’s now my new favorite restaurant in Virginia. BONUS: They have a small playground for kids and some farm animals that can be appreciated from the playground. My toddler definitely loved it. We’ll be coming back on our next visit.
