We stopped into Beano’s Pizza and Bar in Louisville for dinner recently and had a pretty solid experience overall. The atmosphere inside is really nice—clean, casual, and inviting with a laid-back vibe that makes it a great place to hang out for a meal or drinks. It’s the kind of spot you could easily settle into for a relaxed evening.
The food was definitely a highlight. The pizza was pretty good—crispy crust, flavorful sauce, my only complaint about the pizza was that we ordered extra pepperoni, and you can clearly see in the pictures that if that’s extra pepperoni, I hate to see what regular pepperoni is. It wasn’t the best pizza we’ve ever had, but it certainly hit the spot and was fresh and well-made.
What really stood out, though, were the breadsticks. They were excellent—soft, warm, and seasoned just right. They could easily be a meal on their own.
However, the one thing that kept this from being a 5-star review was the lack of cheese sauce for the breadsticks. Marinara is fine, but we were really hoping for a spicy cheese sauce option to kick it up a notch. Unfortunately, that wasn’t available, which was a bit of a letdown for us.
Aside from that, service was friendly, and they make a really good drink. The bar menu had some solid options, and the cocktails were well-crafted—not watered down like you find at some places.
Overall, Beano’s is a good local spot worth visiting. We’ll definitely be back, but we’ll still be hoping they add some cheese dip to the menu. That small addition would take their appetizers to the next level.

The wings were really big however there was hardly any sauce on them. The ranch was quite large as well.

In town for business this week and needed to feed a large crowd. I didn’t want some national chain pizza and chose Bearno’s instead. Was not disappointed. Delicious pizza and they were able to accommodate a variety of dietary needs for my diverse crowd. Highly recommend.

Most of the time in other locations Bearnos is good as expected, but in this location, nothing came out well food wise. Everything including the wings were undercooked. The pizza And breadsticks were so undercooked You could see the raw dough squeezing out from the middle pieces. Undercooked chicken was also an issue -I actually took everything home and re-cooked it all. I’m sure we could’ve sent the food back, but it was very crowded and loud and rather unpleasant so we just boxed everything up and left. Not what we expected at all. Service was OK but nothing to write home about. They can do better for sure.

We got our usual Mama Bearno’s pizza at the Hurstbourne Louisville location. It’s their signature pizza that never disappoints. It’s crisp, cracker-thin crust is perfect for it’s classic toppings. We love adding banana peppers as well. Always a favorite!

Planned on getting takeout pizza. Saw their bourbon selection and inquired about prices… we quickly decided to dine in and have a bourbon flight. The best prices in town and it’s not even close. Incredibly nice and accommodating bartender and manager. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Louisville who likes bourbon. You will not be sorry. Thank you Bearno’s for being the highlight of our weekend!

I have ordered a personal mama’s Bearnos multiple times and it is always good and filling enough for me. This is the second time I’ve ordered a pizza from there when it was busy and got something that looked terrible. The first time they made it right but yesterday they gave me a pizza that was all crust with barely any pizza/toppings and the crust even fell apart. I explained this to the young guy taking orders. (Looked like a teenager) instead of a manager or someone saying let’s make it right, this guy proceeds to argue with me that this is the way their pizzas look when I know it’s not. I just got my money back and ordered a pizza from somewhere else. And to think I tipped him 2.50 on a carry out $8 pizza. I’ll never go back to this location.
