Came by for lunch while we were camping at Bear Lake. We tried the tostones, yuca frita, Dominican Chimi, special (chicken lollipops), quesadillas, and grilled cheese. The tostones were great! Smashed fried green plantain with a coating of salt and ketchup on the side. Yuca frita was tasty with a seasoning and salt applied after frying, Dominican chili was like a shredded chicken sandwich with lettuce, tomato, red onion, mayo and lite mustard. Chicken lollipops were dark meat lollipops with Dominican seasoning… very tasty. The quesadilla was good and the unique flavor was a touch of mustard. The grilled cheese was good with lots of cheese and three slices of bread. The owner was friendly and helpful explaining the different items. He has a rotating menu which you can view electronically. When our order was ready he boxed it and balled each container. The food was made fresh when we ordered in I think a reasonable time but don’t expect to leave with a large order in 10 minutes. Would definitely eat here again.

We googled and found this place near the shore of Bear lake.. We tried the chicken quesadillas, tostones and French fries), quesadillas, and grilled cheese. Tostones are fried plantain with salt. They were AMAZING..
the food has this delicious Dominican taste and the love of a fresh meal.. The owner is so friendly and passionate for his menu, giving us a lovely experience that we will never forget..
BTW, he prepared to us a nice and tasty dessert, warm pineapple with cinnamon.. gorgeous..

We had such a great time! Travelling cross country with my boyfriend right now and we’ve been looking for great food along the way and this was it! Plantains were very authentic and food had great portions 🙂 Owner is a ray of sunshine in Iowa, so hospitable and kind! View of the lake and right next to it there’s a HUGE eagles nest that you can view, very very cool. Def stop in!

Stellar Dominican food. Incredibly made fresh chicken, plantains, amazing ambiance. I’m surprised to find such great food on the lake! Owner made hand-cut cinnamon pineapple slices for the kids. Delicious!

First time in Bearlake Munchies with a great view to Bearlake, and YOU have to go! It’s the cutest little spot with amazing food. The Dominican authenticity is to die for. IT WAS FIRE!! The service we received was amazing, and we will definitely be back.

We stopped by when visiting Bear Lake North shore and what a hidden gem. Not your typical beach food shack, there is a Chef at work who elevates the basics. My hubby had the chicken sandwich and I had the quesadilla. Food was amazing!! Melt in your mouth chicken, perfectly toasted bread, the quesadilla was sweet and savory, nothing bland here! We could go on and on. Definitely worth a visit!
