We tried the Dubai chocolate cream puff here, and while it looked tempting, it ended up being too sweet for our taste. The chocolate flavor was rich, but the overall sweetness overwhelmed the balance we were hoping for. If you like desserts that lean very sweet, you might enjoy it more, but for us it was a bit much.

i don’t normally post bad reviews but experience here was awful. i came with my mom and person on staff made us wait five minutes without any word or even eye contact because they were more interested in a larger virtual order, and only said hello when we asked if there was an issue without any apology. don’t normally care about stuff like this because service work was hard but it honesty felt microaggressive. loved this place as a kid never coming back.

Ordered 2 Dubai puffs, one with chocolate filling and one with Oreo creme. They were both filled with chocolate. Also, they were very hollow, like a hole in the middle. Hardly any filling. Usually, it’s good, but today was terrible. I have video if requested.

Heard good things about Beard Papas snackies .
Since I happened to be in Old Town Pasadena, and discovered there was one. It’s not on the main strip so I almost missed it.
Food:
Cream puff (original) – this was the item that I wanted to try out since it’s their main seller. I expected the puff to be softer with a crunchy outer shell but it was harder than I expected. It was delicious though. The cream is slightly sweet which I like. I hate super sweet cream.
Honey butter puff – the second item I tried. Not a bad combo, but original still is better.
There are more flavors but I wanted to try the puffs as they are and not too overloaded with macha, chocolate, etc.. flavors.
Repeat: only for the original puff with the vanilla filling (original filling). It is pricey but once in a while is ok.

Great little dessert spot here! Friendly and attentive staff! Tight space but it works. There is a small seating area for you while you wait for your order. Reasonably priced treats. There is a parking lot with some free windows just south of the location off of Green street! They can heat up the cake there for you, or give you the instructions to heat it up at home. Cool back story. Some of the paper signs in the store take a way from the overall experience, but not substantively. Wish them success!

Got the chocolate eclair with vanilla filling and a plain puff with green tea. They tasted ok but were stale and overall their quality below expectation. Shop also smelt very strange and musky.

Great to see a beard papa here. Just opened this past weekend. Well-staffed and quick turnaround with your order. You get to choose the type of puff and what filling you would like in it.

This was my second time coming to this Beard Papas. The first time was at a different location and it was amazing. I came here and immediately noticed that the door was broken badly which I find very unprofessional and ghetto. You would think that being a business you would want to get it fixed. The staff (2 women) were unfriendly as no one coming in was greeted, which is something you would expect. I waited for about 10 minutes until I got helped.
There was an awful smell as well as not friendly environment. You can tell that the people working here hate their job because the minute you walk through the doors, the vibe is off. Because it smelled so bad and I was waiting super long to get help, I almost walked out. As far as the food quality itself, I was highly dissatisfied considering my first time trying it in another location was amazing. The cream puff was terrible, as the dough was super hard and burnt. You can tell that they weren’t fresh and probably have been sitting there all day. The vanilla filling was also terrible. I know not to go to this location ever again. I wouldn’t even come here for free cream puffs that’s how terrible it tasted. I will stick to going to the one in Chinatown for better quality and service.
