We stopped in town to explore the lumberjack museum and had worked up a hearty appetite. We didn’t see many options around for food but saw Bear Mountain Smoke Shack after a quick google maps search. I’m so glad we had the chance to eat here! It is a quaint stationary food truck area with a covered and uncovered eating area. As you wait for your order, you can try axe throwing and pin the tail on the pig (courtesy of the owners)! The owners are a lovely couple who put lots of effort into the food and dining environment. The food was beyond delicious! As a southerner, I can attest that this BBQ is top notch! The baked beans were especially mind-blowing in flavor. This was some of the best BBQ I’ve ever had, and I sincerely mean that. If you are in the area and want authentic BBQ, this place is a must!

Stop here if they are open! Even if you drive by, turn around. If you’re not hungry, get a snack for later. Great little spot tucked in off the road. There are a few stools and tables under the pavilion or picnic table. This place feels like a labor of love for the owners. The food was really good and the servings plenty. The owner’s bbq skill was evident. We shared pork belly burnt ends over rice and pulled pork nachos.

I took my mother here for a early Mothers Day present our first time i might add, the food was amazing the Owners/operators are amazing people the cook gave me insight into his back ground with life and cooking across the state and country!! I recommend this place for anyone. FYI pulled pork nachos are amazing, coleslaw is one of the best I’ve ever had and well baked bean were very delicious!!

I love BBQ. I ordered from here several times last fall. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite.
This year, I ordered from them once again. Oh, the disappointment! I spent $30.00. I took my meals home only to find out that both were made with meat that smelled awful and tasted spoiled.
I have no issues spending money on a tasty meal. I have major problems spending money on food I can not eat. I will never try to eat here again.

Fantastic BBQ and friendly owners too! We were passing through for the eclipse in April 2024. Saw the sign and the food truck and immediately banged a U-ey. So glad we did! Generous portions. Tasty food, and the price is right. My only regret is that we were too early in the season for the famous fried pies. Next time.

Great food if your looking for some awesome bbq come see bear mountain they got something for everyone! I’m not much on Cole slaw don’t eat it very at all and I tried a maple pork belly sandwich with coleslaw on top a wow. I’ve had there pull pork several times very awesome moist flavorful. Smoked meat loaf is over the top. Fried pies you can’t get enough of. And the creamiest Mac and cheese you’ve ever laid your eyes on!
