Dishes and drink are slightly small in portion. appetizers Egg and steak are good, pasta. Pie and sausages w/ mash potatoes dishes are so basic without unique flavors. Mini sized Cocktails (figgy pudding) has no taste of rye whisky nor form in it. My friend beer wasn’t even ice cold either. The place has nice interior but quality of food & drink are below average overalls.

For a British place on the water, I thought the fish and chips was going to be at least average, if not above average. It wasn’t. One piece of fish for $27 and it was tough around the edges. Didn’t taste like they seasoned the fish or the batter. Fries were blah. Would have much preferred a McDonald’s fish sandwich with fries

Our server, Adam, was welcoming and attentive and made amazing recommendations. Thus we had the pretzel and Best Date Ever for our apps, and the Fish and Chips for our entree. Everything was to die for delicious and so fresh. We had been wanting to come here for a long time and Adam made our visit so enjoyable.

I had a really good time coming here for the first time. The employees are nice and friendly and they bring a good vibe. The food is really good too. First time trying British food, and I was impressed. The cocktails are amazing as well. Only complaint would be the portion sizes of the main dishes and the bread pudding. Dessert was way too hot, and most likely microwaved. The lamb was spot on!

When I am in old Sacramento I try to fit in as much as I can because it’s such a fun place to go to!

We went to the Bear and Crown because I really wanted a pretzel! Their pretzels are not the typical pretzel you would expect. It was a nice surprise to have a freshly made pretzel with perfect seasoning and served with 2 sauces. My boyfriend had the beer special and I had a glass of wine.

It’s beautiful inside with oversized seating booths. The outside has more seating and even set up for corn hole.

The full bar is nice and the decorations make you feel you are in a British pub! They also sell items next door that remind you of England!

Leo was our server and he was very pleasant and attentive!

This is a classy yet warm environment!

My boyfriend and I had dinner at Bear & Crown while walking my dog in old sac. They have a nice backyard section and gave my dog water 🙂 the food was great. Scotch eggs were delicious; the mustard sauce really highlighted the taste and texture. I ordered the cottage pie, and my boyfriend got the lamb loin. The lamb was so tender I enjoyed the cider too. We will definitely stop by again

This is a good place to get food that isn’t offered everywhere. The pretzel was soft and I liked the cheese dip. I specifically went on a Sunday to get the prime rib which is only offered once a month. The prime rib was massive and came with salad, potatoes, carrots, and a Yorkshire pudding. The meat was juicy and soft. I also tried the lamb dish and it tasted interesting. The waiter was very kind.

2026-02: Cottage pie with HP sauce at the table was great for me, though I see other reviews say it was small by American standards

The only things redeeming about this restaurant are the location and decor.
They seemed unprepared for customers on a Saturday at noon.
We had a large party and two of the people at the table didn’t get their food for an additional 15min after everyone else at the table had been served.
The salads are pathetic. The French fries were sparse. The food overall was underwhelming.
The server was nice enough but didn’t bring things we asked for (extra plates, extra salad dressing).
Definitely do not recommend this place and will never return.

New British Pub dining restaurant in Old Sacramento. Clean and spacious with an outdoor patio dining option. We tried the scotch eggs and fish n chips. Scotch eggs were very delicious. Not overcooked a nice starter. We shared a fish n chips 2 nice pieces of Cod and fries with yummy minted pea smash. Served hot n fresh was nice. Service friendly and attentive..we would definitely come back again. We saw a delicious looking Mac n cheese dish and a few interesting looking cocktails on their menu. Right on the main street of Old Sacramento don’t pass on this spot.
