I’m really disappointed with both the drink and the app experience. The app automatically adds a 10% tip unless you scroll all the way down and manually choose no tip, which I didn’t realize until after checkout. I usually tip in cash directly to the person making my drink, so this felt sneaky — especially since I hadn’t even tried the drink yet.
To make it worse, the drink itself was not good. I ordered an iced espresso expecting something dark and rich, but it tasted like a sugary, watered-down coffee that I couldn’t even finish. I didn’t have time to come back and ask for it to be fixed, so I was stuck with a drink I hated and a tip I didn’t knowingly choose.
I actually came here because it was supposed to be cheaper, but with the automatic tip, it ended up costing more — which is frustrating when the quality wasn’t there.
I wouldn’t have minded tipping if I enjoyed the drink, but paying extra by default for something I disliked really left a bad impression.
Transparency matters, and so does quality. Pic for reference of how light the drink is for an expresso with no creamer and supposed to have just a splash of coconut milk (but the app doesn’t even have coconut milk as an option so I had to put almond milk even though y’all have coconut milk it’s so frustrating.) and it definitely wasn’t a splash of the milk. It is a lot of milk.

The customer service is very lacking, There are only two baristas who will be friendly and most the time when the drive through window opens they just bark the total and pretty much throw the coffee out the window after the transaction. It doesn’t take a lot to say a few words of kindness. I have been a long term customer if Beans and Brews for many years but I don’t want to spend my money where I feel very unwelcome

I have been so impressed with this location of Beans and Brews. I go there to work on homework several days a week. The baristas are always so friendly and helpful. Chloe and Emerson have been so great. It is always so clean, the tables and floors are clean, my food is made so fast and is nice and hot! I especially love the turkey panini pesto sandwich, the avocado toast and the chai latte. While I’m in there working on school, they always are so kind and friendly to the other guests as well. Best coffee place ever. ❤️☕

Drinks were mostly good; although our hot drink tasted off. You could barely hear anything over the loud, unattended and probably over steaming milk.
Ordered a ham & cheese croissant and a breakfast sandwich with bacon. Got the croissant but had to ask for the other sandwich because it wasn’t being made. Received another h&c croissant instead of the sandwich we paid for.

I love Beans & Brews in general, but not this location. My order is always messed up, or the people behind me in line always get their drinks first (dine-in). The barista tried to tell me that the med drink that she just finished was mine, but I ordered a large one. Then she seemed put off that I corrected her. Not very friendly staff at all. I also ordered avocado toast on wheat but got sourdough, and it was barely toasted. I should have just ordered avocado bread. At this point, I’m just going to eat it because of the staff. This location is closest to my daughter’s school, but I’m just going to start going to the Traverse Mountain location. They’ve got it all together, unlike here. Obviously, this location needs help based on reviews.

WORSE SERVICE EVER! What is the point of having this place open if you don’t want to sell?? We came to this place last night at 6pm, ordered drinks, everything was going well…
Then my friend tried to order the Avocado toast and the employee Hannah told her “the toaster was off” when I asked her why it was off her response was “we usually turn it off earlier” like SERIOUSLY?? The venue was opened until 8pm. The toaster was off 2 hours before closing time ??
Employee Hannah also told us the restrooms were closed to the public and to paying customers, nobody could use them. Not even us who were sitting there for 2 hours and had already expressed our disappointment with food.
We came to a coffee shop with a food menu where no food is served past 6pm because the employees are too lazy to clean up later, and two restrooms which you can’t use for the same reason.
It is evident that offering a decent service is not a priority here.
My friend was starving, but they didn’t care. The lack of attention, customer service and intention to sell was real. You might as well close down the entire venue early and save that money you’re paying the people who “work” there. We left with the most disappointing experience.

I love Beans & Brews. The coffee they use has a really nice flavor to me. The drinks and food you can get for the prices they have are delicious and so worth it. I’ve gotten most of the food items there, my only advice there is if you get the avocado toast ask for waaaaay light everything bagel seasoning. I’m not sure if they salt it separately or if the everything bagel seasoning they use is super freaking salty but the 2 times I’ve gotten it there’s been so much salt it hurts my mouth. It was almost like they’d dipped the avocado in salt I’ve had to scrape off most of the avocado both times to get the salty flavor off. The 2nd time I even asked for light seasoning and still couldn’t tolerate it. I didn’t think to ask if they salt it separately so my mistake I guess ♀️ I still highly recommend this coffee shop, it’s been one of my long-time go-to’s, specifically this location. The staff are always courteous and efficient and always brighten my day.
