Sharing a Roast Beef Sundae and side salad for a light lunch worked fairly well. The roast beef entree was okay and the side salad was good. They were out of Beignets at 1pm or we would have tried one. The atmosphere overall was good with everything looking clean, organized, and quiet enough to make this a good place for meetings.

What a GEM! I stopped by a little late in the afternoon and found out lunch was being served for a few more minutes. I ordered the adult grilled cheese and potato sale, along with the Beignets. Best grilled cheese I’ve had. Same with the potato salad. Flavorful, fresh, delicious. The building was a restored store front right in main street.

What a wonderful find! If you’re driving I 80 and need a coffee or food break, you’ll find Beans & Beignets to be a beautiful, bright delight. Fresh food, great coffee and glorious beignets in traditional, cinnamon, lemon and more. Ice cream too.

Stopped at this cute cafe during a road trip! It’s a great option to support local and to have some healthier options rather than stopping at a fast food chain. The spinach & strawberry salad is great – and of course had to get a beignet which was a nice treat. Highly recommend!

We had a delicious breakfast here. The caramel latte was very good and the breakfast burritos that my wife and I had were very filling. We tried the signature Beignets and they were well worth the 30 minute drive from West Des Moines. I highly recommend it. We visited on a Friday morning and there was plenty of seating and no wait.

Always a clean and friendly atmosphere. The food is always yummy, coffee is fresh and artisan crafted, and the beignets are better than New Orleans!! The sister shop is super cute, def a must if in the area!

We moved from Southern California to Iowa a year ago. Needless to say, we’ve spent many-a-weekend having beignets at Jazz Kitchen in Downtown Disney. I have to say, or hopes weren’t high but we were delightfully surprised by the beignets at Beans and Beignets. We drove about 30 minutes to have them and it was WELL worth the drive. We had actually gone the evening before but they had run out. In their defense, we arrived about 1 hour before closing so that was our fault. So, we stayed for a late lunch/early dinner and the food was good. I will say that the kids did not like the ice cream (a free scoop comes with the kids meal). The flavor was OK but it’s that ice cream that’s icy, not creamy. Aside from that, it was all very good. If we have 1 complaint, it would be the lack of powdered sugar on the beignets. Traditionally, they’re put in a paper sack with a bunch of powdered sugar and you shake the beignets inside the bag to cover them completely. Here, they were placed on a plate with the sugar dusted over them. We could have asked for more sugar but we didn’t. They were very good and we didn’t want to complain. In fact, the dough tasted like it could be the Cafe du monde dough (although I don’t want to claim this because I’m not sure). If they had more powdered sugar and were completely coated, they would have been perfect! Also, my husband tried the cinnamon ones. They were granulated sugar and cinnamon. The delicious aspect comes into play when the warmth of the beignet semi-melts the powdered sugar. Had the cinnamon ones been done with powdered sugar and cinnamon instead of the granulated sugar, they would have been much better. All-in-all though, we HIGHLY recommend Beans and Beignets! Good food, kind staff, clean facility, and a beignet worth driving for!

Found this coffeeshop on the way to South Dakota. The beignets were better than New Orleans! Soft pastry with low amount of powdered sugar. Very nice staff and quick service although they were busy on a Friday morning. I hope to come back soon!
