We came down to La. for a quick mid week get away. I pulled out my trusty Yelp and looked for suggestions, there is very limited local restaurants. So we ask a few local folks and this was also their suggestion.
Now the Grill is actually located inside of a Texaco or attached to it, is more like it. There is also a Casino on the right of it.
Dee the friendly lady met us at the front door and she followed us to the booth with menus. She informed us about todays special and took our drink order. A very extensive menu of choices and daily specials and local favs that are not listed. See pictures
All food items are made from scratch from the Entrees and side, to the BBQ and Steaks. The pies and desserts are also scratched made.
I choose the Chicken Fried Steak with 2 sides.
scratch mashed garlic potatoes and very delicious macaroni & cheese,and added a side salad.
My wife had a grilled chicken sandwich with onion rings. The Chicken breast was enough for 2 sandwiches and extremely tender.
The waitress Dee was telling us about their Hub Cap Size Pancakes and their 30 minute Short Stack Challenge 3 of these pancakes with eggs and meat.
I am putting Yelp on notice, let me know if you take the Challenge. The pancake plate is about 20 inches around that they use to serve you.
Ok, the price is not cheap, but the quality and serving size of the dishes they serve was well worth the money paid tonight.

This is a great place to stop. If you drive truck the parking lot in back is large with wide spots. The food is great and the price is comparable to Denny’s or Country Pride, but much better.

First off the food is delicious, hands down delicious. A “have to stop at” restaurant!!!
Great friendly service, food delivered quick and exactly how you order it. I had the Philly & the wife had the brisket plate.No Complaints. If could take the chef back to NM I would. 10 Stars!!! We will be back.

The food was delicious, but they only had two waiters which was bring out the food and cashing out tickets at the same time. We got there at 12:30ish and did not get our food until 2:10. The waiter forgot to put in my order, so he gave me a choice to receive a free appetizer until my order was ready. The salad was great, the waiter did apologize several times! We were pleased with the taste of the food, but dissatisfied with their service.

Stopped by for breakfast on a Sunday morning, very good sausage biscuits! Husband had the country ham and eggs, everything was great except for the home fries. They were over cooked. We will definitely be back. Going to try lunch or dinner next.

We were looking forward to our meal since it came highly recommended. Unfortunately the food was undercooked, topped with onions after requesting it not be, and the food I originally ordered was sold out. The service was great. The manager not so much. She argued that the food was done and didn’t have onions on it. We could hear the cook plainly say ” I scarpped the onions off”. This is not how you do business. The second order that was brought out was undercooked also. Only one of 3 meals was correct. We paid for that one and left. We will never return and I will not recommend this place to anyone.

Hubby and I both had the Ultimate Cheeseburger and Cajun fries. Food was absolutely fantastic, staff is awesome and everything is clean and pleasant. We drive over the road and will definitely stop here when in the area. Outstanding food!

Nice food and friendly folks. The beef taco salad was a nice change of pace. I bought 100 gallons of fuel so I got a “free meal” receipt, which took about $8 off my bill. Thanks! I’ll be back for sure.

Food was okay, but nothing I would stop again for. Service was slow. We ordered a burger and onion rings, which came out with fries instead. When we brought it to our waitresses attention, she argued with us and said she heard fries.
