The food here is SOLID TX BBQ…the ribs slid off the bone, and the meat is tender and smoky. Brisket was very moist, nice smoke, with a melt-in-your-mouth fat cap and flavorful dry rub. The sausage isn’t made in-house but is good with a nice kick. Impressive sides…loved the potato salad with “secret ingredients” and the Mac & Cheese is delicious. Lori had me try their jalapeño coleslaw…nice kick to a slaw and this would be killer on a pulled pork sandwich! Lori told me about their homemade grande Tamales, so I ordered three brisket ones to go but couldn’t help sampling one. The thick corn masa and the tender brisket was incredible, and adding some of the homemade salsas (green and red) puts them over the top! One will be my breakfast tomorrow morning with some eggs!
Great food, a welcoming Texas atmosphere, and wonderful people make for a great little spot in Smyrna. I can’t wait to go back and try some of the cast iron skillet cobblers Rooster makes.
My coworkers and I had the cheesestix and nacho cheese fries with Brisket items they have.
Very good, the brisket was very juicy and soft, with the bbq sauce was very flavorful and sweet.
The cheesestix were huge and very cheesey so if you love cheese there are a recommendation for you, if not a big cheese fan I’d say no.
The marinara is on the sweeter side, but with a good taste.
I won the nacho cheese fry brisket so I got that for free, but based off the portion and the pricing I saw on the menu seem to be very good especially with the amount of food you receive.
The brisket was very tender and moist, easy to pull apart.
The place seem very welcoming and had nice people.
I liked the wooden walls and floors, they had some TVS where you could sit down and watch some games and enjoy some good bbq.
Definitely a nice, relaxing atmosphere, where you know you’re going to have some good bbq.
I’ll definitely be back.
Let me say also the dessert is on point old style cast iron Peach Cobbler and the banana pudding!!!
Don’t leave with the dessert!!!!
I had the brisket and beef sausage with spicy cowboy beans and Jalapeño slaw. Great flavor with the sausage and the brisket was tender and juicy with a decent smoke ring. The cowboy baked beans were quite hot, and were great. Also had the brisket and Mac sandwich too. Quite flavorful and filling
TN Plumbing Solutions Review (featuring our mascot, Drippy):
Our team stopped by Beane Brothers BBQ, and Drippy hasn’t stopped talking about it since! The food was incredible — tender meats, flavorful sides, and everything cooked to perfection. The restaurant was clean, the staff was welcoming, and the service was quick.
Drippy might be our water drop mascot, but after this meal, he’s feeling more like a BBQ drop!
Big thanks to Beane Brothers for a great experience — we’ll definitely be back!
I am a wing fanatic. I’m not the best at making them, but I am AMAZINGLY good at consuming them. I’ve been developing that skill my whole life. Anywho, I tried two types of wings today – their cajun dry rub on the right, and the hot bbq on the left.
The cajun dry rub was simply astounding. This is the one to get. The hot BBQ was good, but the crisp exterior of the dry rub is exquisite. The skin/fat is perfectly rendered, the meat cooked through perfectly but not dry… it is easily the best wing in Smyrna, and competes at the very top of the list with any other place, too, for that matter. The dry rub itself is a great blend of depth and fullness with herb and spice, and the perfect amount of salt to liven everything up and help the wigs achieve a level of crispness that I’ve never had in a smoked wing before. I am befuddled, truly. They have a level of crisp to them that many fried wings would be thrilled to attain.
For sauces, they have a regular and a hot BBQ. The hot BBQ is my jam. It won’t hurt you, but it does have some actual heat that sneaks up on you a bit after your first bite. It takes about a minute to fully develop into a wonderfully pleasing warmth, and it stays with you for awhile. I found myself saucing about every 3rd bite and that kept me right in my “happy zone” of heat/spice.
No, the meal wasn’t cheap. Not much that’s good is cheap, especially when it comes to quality, well-prepared food! Beane Brothers BBQ deserves to be in your regular rotation of restaurants. If you haven’t been there yet, drop everything and head that way NOW. Fantastic people, great food, and a good time. There aren’t many places that put this much effort into high quality, well-executed meals. BBQ like this, especially, is very difficult and time-consuming to prepare. And then holding at proper temps and with the methods necessary to preserve freshness, texture, etc are also a lot of work. These folks are earning every penny and it’s an absolute pleasure to enjoy.
I’ll be back soon!
I went in by myself and ordered too much food because I wanted to try a couple different things.
I ordered the Mac & Cheese Boat with brisket, and they had a special on a “Hot Porker” sandwich with a side. Either one of those should have been enough for me (and I’m a big guy).
The drinks are self-serve, including getting the cup yourself, as are the toppings and sauces. The mild sauce was in normal opaque bottles, but the spicy sauce was in yellow containers. They have a sign up saying it, but it’s still disconcerting because we’ve been trained our whole lives that mustard is in yellow containers. It’s not a problem, just something to note.
As for the food….. the food was good!
The “Hot Porker” sandwich was pretty spicy, and overall pretty good. The only recommendation I would make for it would be stiffer buns.
The Mac & Cheese boat was great! The brisket on top was good, and plentiful. As for plentiful…. there was a LOT of mac & cheese!!! This is definitely NOT a bad thing! You definitely get your money worth, unlike some other restaurants. I will definitely be getting this again.
The potato salad wasn’t anything to write home about. It tasted to me like store brand. I didn’t ask them about it, because it’s not a make-or-break thing for me. Just something to note.
As I said before, this place just opened. There are still some learning curves. The menu isn’t completed yet (still on pieces of paper) with a sign up saying more things are coming to the menu. The current menu is pretty good, and there were still plenty more things on it that I wanted to try!
If I had to ding them on anything, it would be a small bone I got in my pulled pork sandwich. Since it was small, and only a single bone, I didn’t think it was worth bringing up. The staff asked me multiple times how my food was, and I always told them it was good (because it was!). A bone can happen to any bbq place. It happens.
Right now I would expect to spend about $15 per person. I will definitely be coming back.
