Ive given this place rave reviews for the food in the past visits very good but i cant get past how much the attention to service is ignored here.. Ive sat here for 8 minutes just for a menu and once your food arrives and your water runs out thats all you’ll see until the bill comes.. To be fair I’ve eating here when it’s just been myself eating still the wait staff is missing drinks empty. Today there were 2 waitresses while i sat at my table no water, no recap if i needed anything else actually had to walk around and find someone to pay my bill.. Definitely last time i ever eat here unless i bring my own drinks for my own meal ridiculous…

This off the beaten path diner boasts a clean and simple menu with excellent options for all ages, even a senior discount menu, which is the bomb for those born prior to 1971. Whoa-that is a long time ago. The food was delicious, the music was great, and they have Keno to boot. The Jumbo Breakfast Burrito smothered with gravy is so good-a panoply of flavors in your mouth. Super clean bathrooms with hot water. Why is that important, you might ask? Hot water = higher probability of clean hands preparing your food. Oh-did I mention the restrooms smelled incredible. Had we eaten on Sunday Brunch, kids under 12 would’ve been free. A special shout to our server, Dawn for the incredible service. Thanks a bunch.

Traveling through rainy Oregon 2 nights prior to Thanksgiving looking for a quiet dinner and clean healthy food. Found Beachwood – we were met with a.smile even though arriving late …they shuttled us next to their fireplace and took care of us like family. I chose the soup/salad bar, which worked perfectly for me. A yummy corn and potato soup was a surprise! Husband had the party melt which I have to say, was probably the best party melt I have ever tasted. Doesn’t that sound crazy. I don’t know why, but it was delicious! Local draft beer was also exceptional .So this is one of the great local Oregon restaurants to count on for a wholesome meal!

Can’t say enough great things about the spread of great foods to choice from. From salads to sides, comfort foods galore, and dessert too. The only thing better then the food here was the service. Everyone was so friendly and worked as a team to make it a comfortable and memorable meal. The owner was very nice and his staff were a flashback to when good service meant something. Gave five stars because as these review sites work they deserve five stars. Great classic American bar food type place. I’ve been twice for lunch and I would go back again. The burger I had the first time was great. I can’t fault it in any way. This time I had the rubin and once again I cannot fault it. The server there was by herself both times so the service was not super swift or overwhelming but it was totally fine and friendly. I have also tried the Cuban and the French Dip and the Philly, all are very good. Bottom line is that I haven’t had anything I wouldn’t recommend to guests. It’s a classic small town American pub serving great lunch fare. I cannot think of a place in The Dalles that I would rather eat for lunch with friends.
