As a DJ of 34 years, I’ve had the privilege of performing at countless venues — and I’m thrilled to now be hosting Sunday Karaoke at Salty D’s Beachside here in Ormond Beach. After my first night, I can confidently say this place is something special!
The setup for entertainment is fantastic, but what really stood out to me was the staff. Dee and Ocean were hustling behind the bar serving drinks all night, yet still made time to ensure I had everything I needed for a successful show. That level of teamwork goes a long way.
And then there’s Dee — the owner and the heartbeat of the place. Her energy is contagious! She’s fun, positive, and truly hands-on. Even with a full staff, she jumped behind the bar, helped in the kitchen, and supported her team every step of the way. The smiles on everyone’s faces said it all.
Important Note: I’m not writing this just because I’m working here. There are hundreds of venues across the Daytona area where DJs can perform, and I rarely post reviews. But Salty D’s and Dee made me feel welcome from the very first moment — it just felt right.

Looking for a place to eat. Had great reviews with a great looking menu. The place it’s self looked amazing. Roof top bar grabbed our attention. Unfortunately not serving food but Owner opens for a dance lesson night. She saw us in parking lot and offered us to come in and buy a beer, her day off I might add. Really cool vibes with even better Owner. Great job…we’re coming back. 10 stars

The place could use a little TLC for top deck… one bathroom- door does lock and no toilet paper. Inside wasn’t an option. Had some bloody Mary’s those were good- not from scratch but they were good. Burger was pretty good too, fries are fresh cut and were hot. Overall, not a bad place just not wow.

We ate at Salty D’s for lunch and were pleasantly surprised with the offerings! I had a cooked to order Habanero Jam burger and my husband had a pacific Poke bowl. Both were very good! Thanks also to Greg who served and suggested these items. The 3rd story porch seating gave us a great view of the ocean and we even saw a sailboat cruise on by. We highly recommend Salty D’s!

This place is an absolute gem. Everyone was absolutely incredible. Kate served us brunch and was so cute. Dee was beyond accommodating and stopped what she was doing to take us out in her super cute pink convertible. We came back the next night and Ocean took SUCH good care of us. He stopped what he was doing to teach us a line dance, kept our drinks flowing, and had the most amazing energy. I would recommend this bar to literally anyone in the area.

Great Chef made mushroom soup bowl – perfect after a blustery beach day in December. The crowd was festive, inviting, and so much fun. They had kareoke at 7 and the owner Dee, personally invited me to stay and enjoy their Christmas party, complete w a Scavenger Hunt! Great atmosphere and great little supper spot!

Ocean behind the bar is incredible — friendly, fast, and seriously knows how to make a great drink. You can tell he loves what he does. And our waitress Kate was just as fantastic — super attentive, sweet, and made sure we had everything we needed all night.

Second time here.
Food was much better this time. We had burgers. They were GREAT! The fries definitely cut from real potatoes SOOO good.
Ohhh the espresso martini, DEF RECOMMENDED

We arrived for dinner 7:30 and sat up at the rooftop dining area. The bartender came over within 5 and took our drink order, 3 margaritas and a water with lemon.
If you read my reviews before, you know I love a good margarita. They did NOT serve a good margarita. Watered down lime water served in a tea glass. And no lemon for the lemon water.
35 minutes, our appetizer/salad and 5 minutes later, the entrees arrived, minus 1 order of shoestring onions that came as a side with the spaghetti shrimp alfredo; those arrived 10 minutes later, after asking twice.
The food: the chicken fajitas tacos were dry and warm at best. I asked for salsa to help but they don’t have enough salsa.
Spaghetti alfredo had half dozen shrimp and was a little dry, 3 stars. The classic burger with shoestring onions. Everything about the order was wrong: no cheese, had tomoto, no ketchup, warm at best but the onions were served with it, unlike the spaghetti.
Ribeye meal, cooked decent but served with a plastic fork???
The entire experience was not good and the waiter recognized it, apologized but never sent us a manager. He did, however, share with us that this was his 4th day on the job and that he had just had a table of 4 walk out due to similar disappointments.
Great location and endless possibiities but without major changes, will never survive.

Played very loud music which impeded socializing with my friend. Very simple cuisine, prices around $15-20. American-Mexican food selection and bar. Very pleasant to sit on the top. On picture – red pepper humus.
Ps: after reading a rude response and over all disrespectful tone, I will never ever again enter that outdated locale. Very low level for food, environment and hospitality. My first impression was 100% correct and it has been confirmed by the same response. You may read and have the whole picture yourself.
