Stumbling into Beachbum Berry’s Latitude 29 was the happiest accident of our entire trip. Wandering is our favorite way to explore a city, and this place felt like a reward for doing it right.
From the moment we walked in, we were obsessed with the décor and vibe—immersive, fun, and effortlessly cool. The bartenders are true professionals, serving up incredible cocktails while also being genuinely engaging and welcoming. The drinks were outstanding, the food was delicious, and the energy of the place was just right.
We felt instantly at home, and if it hadn’t been our last night in New Orleans, we would have gone back every single evening. An absolute must-visit for anyone who loves great cocktails, great atmosphere, and places with real soul.

I’d been wanting to go to Latitude 29 for a long time, and it was absolutely worth the wait!

Once we were seated, Michele H took us on a journey. She was so gracious and genuine, providing us with excellence recommendations.

From the Pontchartrain Pearl Diver to the Espresso Bongo, our drinks were phenomenal. The food didn’t skip a beat, either. We ordered the lumpia and the pimento cheese rangoons, which were great accompanying bites to go with the beverages.

All in all, a wonderful place to escape to and I can’t wait to get back!

I made a special effort to visit as I am well aware of Beachbum Berry’s tiki cocktails and have his book. So this was something of a pilgrimage for me. I loved the tiki design venue and the food choices. What made it for me was the warm and professional service. Fantastic cocktails and genuine interest shown in me by the bar staff as I was a big tiki fan. I’d loved to have met the Beachbum to sign my book but he wasn’t there that evening. Highly recommended

Visited on December 27th. Very interesting place. The decor is of course Hawaiian themed, not a Hawaiian restaurant as Google lists. Extensive sweet mixed drink menu. We were hoping for something more authentic. I think this is more fusion to speak to the people and their tastes. I got to say the woman at the front working reservations was amazing, beyond expectations and so was our server. Excellent service! Try it once if you haven’t had spam musubi in a while. Scratch menu is a nice idea, but when you have reservations in advance, and look forward to menu items no longer available, makes for a bummer experience.

I am on an unofficial Tiki Bar Pilgrimage and Latitude 29 has set a new bar (no-pun intended) in the whole package experience.

Bar staff was hilariously entertaining, delightfully chatty, the vibes are vibing.

The food is delicious and the drinks, oh the drinks, they are so masterfully crafted and high quality that we could have ordered a couple more if we didn’t have dinner reservations elsewhere.

Food:
Hand Cut Fries
Mushroom Bao
Korean Fried Chicken

Drinks:
Pandan Painkiller
Pearl Diver
Zombie
Mai Tai
Latitude 29 (offered as shots by the bar crew)

We went here for dinner tonight around 615. They are a cute little place. We were seated near the door, so I don’t know how far it goes back. Looked to be about 20ish tables with a side for the bar. Kitchy Tiki Decor, super fun details. We got seated pretty quickly, our Server was awesome. I want to say her name was Max, brought a carafe of water which she replaced when we drank it all. She made helpful suggestions on portion size. We ended up getting the pork Bao buns and the Stuffed Cornish Hen which both had cute names. The pork was absolutely amazing. I regretted offer to split with my husband as I would have kept both. The hen was definitely enough for two people to split. The only issue was it was tough to see the bones in the darkened restaurant, but then we played with the light on the table and made it brighter. It was worth the work as it was delicious.

The offered a complimentary shot, but we were drinking tonight, so she very sweetly brought us stickers with the check, which clearly they usually give to kids, and it made us laugh.

The people around us seemed to super enjoy the shots and one table ordered more.

All in all great dinner hidden gem.

Met a group of friends here during Mardi Gras. It was my 1st time there. The atmosphere was pretty cool. We shared this huge drink. I’d definitely go back.

Checkout the pictures from this little place. The food, drinks, service and atmosphere were amazing! The garlic shrimp appetizer and Brussels sprouts were also very good.
My dinner was the pork belly with egg and lo mein. The egg had a crunchy coating and was soft cooked so it created a nice sauce for the lo mein. A hint of lemon on the lo mein made a fresh combination for the egg sauce. The pork belly was nicely reduced and almost melts in your mouth. The dessert was multiple textures and flavors in a bread pudding shaped like a muffin. Come enjoy this place…..it’s almost hidden….so don’t miss it.

Thoroughly exceeded my sky-high expectations!

This is a must-visit for any fan of tiki/tropical drinks for not only the high quality, historically-faithful recipes, but also the extremely kind and thoughtful staff.

Cool tiki atmosphere. Good food. Very good tiki drinks (including n/a selections) but needs to up it’s ice game. Regular cubes in a Mai Tai is blasphemy.
