This is what happens when a vegan owner decides plant-based folks deserve the full experience. Not an afterthought, not a sad veggie wrap, but a legitimate separate vegan menu where you can order any Beach Hut sandwich in vegan form.
They’re using high-quality Butcher’s Son meats throughout, and their tempeh sandwich is genuinely incredible. I’ve been probably 20+ times and it’s almost always excellent.
What makes this place truly special isn’t just the food, it’s the intentionality. The owner didn’t just slap some hummus on bread and call it a day. They built a complete vegan experience that respects both the Beach Hut tradition and the plant-based community. That level of thoughtfulness is rare and deserves to be celebrated.
If you’re vegan in Sacramento, try it out! If you’re not vegan but eat with people who are, this is where you go when you want everyone to actually be excited about their meal. (they of course still have the normal, non-vegan menu too) The DOCO location makes it even better for a post-game or pre-show bite.

I went here because I have never had a bad sandwich from Beach hut. They didn’t disappoint this time either. I ordered a footling roast beef and a very cute woman made me the perfect sandwich. This place is a little bit more expensive than subway, but it is definitely worth it. The quality here is so much better than subway. When I’m downtown I will go here again. Check it out you will be pleasantly surprised.

The only reason I’m giving this place one star is because they FORGOT TO PUT THE HAM in my sandwich, which sort of defeats the purpose of getting a sandwich. Extremely disappointed in the quality of the sandwiches here since I’ve never had any issues with Beach Hut deli before. In all honesty I would have asked for a refund if it weren’t for time not being on my side.

The atmosphere is very cool with the interior being very detailed and stylistic as the tables being surfboards is cool and the interior pergola isn’t something I’ve ever seen before. They have a sizable menu and even larger drinks and alcohol menu, but I recommend confidently the Shark Bite or if you don’t like heat, the High Tide.

Stopped here on my lunch break. Didn’t have much time so I was glad that they prepared food very quick! Friendly staff, quick service, delicious food! Broccoli cheddar soup is delicious!!!!

The place was moderately busy when we arrived – 8 people or so in line to order. We waited an Hour for our meal to arrive. Nice people working and apologetic but to wait this long for a sandwich is not okay. I won’t be returning. $30 dollars for a beer and a sandwich seems excessive as well.

Food was good, service was meh, was told that they couldn’t do a lettuce wrap because there’s a lettuce shortage and their boss doesn’t want them too… understandable but could have been explained with a little more professionalism. I got a wrap instead and the tortilla was gross. Not sure what it was, not a normal tortilla/wrap.

Beyond Horrendous service, took more than 1.5 hours to have our sandwiches ready and they didn’t warn us that it would take that long when placing the order, ruined our plans and missed our appointments later in the day. Sandwiches were nothing to write home about on top of all that. Won’t be coming back and you are better off spending your money and time just about anywhere else. Disappointing
