Not a large amount of food options on the island, but this one is definitely the top pick.

Great view and atmosphere. Food and service was good.

Great casual place with surprisingly innovative and yummy food! I had the cold noodle salad with white fish on it and I had to come back the next day for it again as it was so good!!
My husband had the club which was well done and delicious. Kind laid back staff which fits the vibe of the island.

Went here as the other restaurant we wanted to go to was closed. Guess that’s how “Island time” works. Understaffed because of a local wedding…which was for one of the staff members. Still had good food and very good service considering the circumstances. I’d come back again.
The fried whitefish sandwhich was good and the sauce was amazing…seemed like a cross between Thousand Island and Tartar but with smoked paprika…I don’t know but I ate all the sauce with sandwich and fries. The oil used to fry could have been newer as the food was very dark but no off tastes. I enjoyed the simplicity of my meal and the friendly atmosphere in spite of short staff and growing lunch crowd.

My husband and I stopped by the Beach Club on Madeline Island for lunch and had a pleasant experience. The restaurant operates on a self-service ordering system—after finding a table, we approached the window, browsed the menu, and placed our order. Our food was brought to our table when it was ready, which made the process easy and efficient.

The menu is small but offers a good selection. We decided on the daily special: fried shrimp and fries, cheese curds, and a cup of fish chowder. Everything was tasty, with the fish chowder standing out as the highlight of the meal. There’s also a full bar available, though we just stuck with water.

The pricing was a bit on the high side for the portion sizes, but the quality of the food made it worthwhile. The only downside was the lighting in the main dining and bar area—it’s not very bright, with a large bay window being the main source of natural light. Despite that, the staff were friendly and helpful, which added to the overall positive experience.

Overall, the Beach Club is a solid choice for a casual meal with good seafood and friendly service, even if the atmosphere could use a bit more light.

The beach club is a great little bar with beers, bar food, and a lovely place to sit a spell and enjoy the scenery of Madeline island.

Easy to find right next to the ferry landing. Street parking is plentiful. Family friendly.

The wait staff is caring and welcoming.

Please please order the Chicken Strips… 9.5/10 and if you want my type of Chicken Strip… this is it. Best I have had yet and I get them every time I come to Madeline Island. Might I even say, it’s worth the Ferry Ride over to get them.
Staff are friendly, food is always good, sitting outside is the best so I would definitely recommend coming here!

We each ordered 2 fish tacos. Picture doesn’t do it justice. It was the worst fish tacos I’ve ever had! The fish was like popcorn chicken where u only taste the batter, couldn’t even tell that there was even fish in it n they only put very few pieces of it in there, very bland, shells were cold n it would just break as if it was old, the chips were pretty stale tasting. Very disappointing especially when we pay $34 total just for the tacos n chips and the boat tour folks recommended it as well as a lady at one the stores. We wondered if anyone there actually knows what good tacos (food) is ‍♀️. I guess there was another restaurant on the island but it was further away. We’ll try that one next time otherwise we’ll just pack our own food.

Celebrated my 50th birthday on Madeline Island October 18th. Island chamber recommended this place for lunch. Me and my 5 other family members had a hard time finding seating. When we found a booth it was still a mess from the last people who used it. No staff to clean it. No staff to take our order. When we put our order in it took over 40 minutes to get our food. I was lucky we had time to make the next ferry back. I had a burger with French fries. Burger was overcooked and tiny with a huge amount of fries. Rest of my family had the fish fry. It was dry as wood. Place was noisy with kids running around like crazy on the toy games. This was not what I expected for my 50th birthday. It was just terrible. I plan to visit Madeline Island many times more but will never go there again. I would of had a better experience if the Island had a McDonald’s.

Gotta remember it’s an island business with limited resources. I’ve never had a bad experience in many visits. Ambience is great, especially if weather allows outdoor seating. Please cut it a little slack, reviewers

The Beach Club – Madeline Island, Summer ‘25

We stepped into the refreshingly air-conditioned café on a warm summer afternoon and immediately noticed menus placed neatly atop the fireplace. After browsing the options, we found a few tempting lunch choices and headed to the order counter. Our picks: a bowl of homemade clam chowder, an order of Wisconsin cheese curds, and a taco salad.

The Beach Club offers five distinct seating areas, each with its own charm: the lively outdoor patio overlooking the island’s main drag, cozy bar seating, a game room with a laid-back vibe, tables tucked beside the bar for a quieter experience, and—saving the best for last—the outdoor seating that looks directly over the water. From there, you can watch the ferry load and unload cars as it arrives and departs, giving you that perfect “island moment.”

Our food arrived impressively fast—under 10 minutes. The staff who brought it to our outdoor table were warm, cheerful, and genuinely welcoming, making sure we knew they were happy to help with anything we might need.

The taco salad was a highlight for my husband—served in a crisp, deep-fried flour tortilla shell with fresh guacamole and sour cream. The Wisconsin cheese curds came out piping hot, with that satisfying cheese pull every curd lover dreams about. My clam chowder was hearty and flavorful, generously packed with tender bits of clam and creamy potatoes.

Overall, The Beach Club is a comfortable, casual spot on Madeline Island to enjoy a beer, cocktail, or hearty lunch. With plenty of menu variety, a diverse mix of patrons, and some of the best waterfront views on the island, it’s the kind of place you could linger for hours. We left full, relaxed, and already talking about coming back.
