Went with my dad for lunch just thinking it’s just a sandwich shop. Nope!! It was so much more than I thought. We walked in and took our time looking at the menu, so many different varieties of sandwiches. I ordered the Cubano with onion rings. Dad had the VB Club. Beach Bum is more than just a sandwich shop, it is a relaxing place to sit and eat great food! I will be coming back for more. I have to try the different sandwiches.

Delicious food! Fantastic service! I have loved everything I’ve had here! It’s all freshly made and they make adjustments very easily. Can’t wait to go back.

Best onion rings I’ve ever had! The sandwiches are great with plenty of meat and veggies and the chili dog has just the right amount of chili. So good!

Update – I’ve been back many times as I’m hooked on the onion rings, however, it’s soup season and I have a new favorite- Loaded Potato Soup with a Grilled Cheese! It’s delicious! The soup is nice and thick with potato chunks, just like my mom made, and is perfect for dipping my grilled cheese in! The bread on the grilled cheese is like biting into buttery clouds and they don’t slack on the cheeses. So good! Highly recommend!

This is the first place where I can confidently say the food matches what the review photos look like. The food was good, quick, and hot. The atmosphere is very inviting and up to date. The customer service was really good as the gentlemen working the register was very kind and patient. Additionally the prices aren’t bad considering the location is near the beach. This place has something for everyone and I will definitely be back.

Had the Cali Club + side of Maui Sweet Onion chips for lunch. Bannnnggerrrr all around. The turkey meat tasted super fresh, warm, and it had a nice thick cut unlike typical sub places. Friendly service and quick too. Definitely coming back!

Super close and convenient to the boardwalk. Very quick service. Fresh food and a great beachy vibe. I ordered the” whole hog “ wrap because I wasn’t sure which breakfast meat I wanted. This delicious wrap had it all. There is a coffee station and a beverage station in the back. There is ample seating both inside and covered seating outside. If you’re looking for a delicious breakfast sandwich in Virginia Beach, this is the place I would recommend

Beach Bum Sandwich Shop is such a gem on Laskin Road! The vibe inside is bright, fun, and relaxed—exactly what you want when you’re just a block from the beach. The sandwiches are seriously next level; fresh ingredients, great flavor combos, and you can tell everything is made with care.

What I love most is the welcoming atmosphere—it feels good to support a local, independent (and LGBTQ-owned) business that puts so much heart into what they do. It’s quickly become one of my favorite go-to spots at the Oceanfront. If you haven’t been yet, do yourself a favor and stop in. You’ll leave happy and full!

First time trying and it was good! I got the Chicken Sandwich with grilled chicken and mild buffalo sauce on side. Flavor was great but instead of a solid piece of grilled chicken you’d normally see on a sandwich, it was chicken strips you’d see on a salad or maybe a wrap. Odd choice for a sandwich. Pasta salad side was good, could use more seasoning. It’s very light tasting.
