Tried the hotpot and grill experience, and I genuinely enjoyed the experience. The ingredients were fresh, the soup base was flavourful, and the grilled items were fresh. Personally, I like it better than the S. This more satisfying, tastier, and worth the price.

I’ve been to this place for a few times now, and while the food has always been good, the service continues to be a major letdown. (especially at the i-City outlet)

During my most recent visit with my family, my mom (her first time here), she had a simple question about the food. Instead of assisting her, one of the staff looked visibly annoyed and chose to ignore her. To make it even worse, they completely turned away from her and served the customer standing beside us, as if we weren’t even there. It came off as extremely disrespectful and unnecessary.

On another occasion, I came with a friend and was told earlier that cash was accepted. But when we tried to pay, we were suddenly told otherwise and left standing awkwardly for nearly 10 minutes, forcing us to somehow pay cashless when we repeatedly said we didn’t have a way to, only to then be told there was no change, despite the cash register being right there infront of the worker.

I understand that working in food service can be stressful, What’s frustrating is the consistent rudeness from the same staff members every time I visit this outlet. It really affects the overall experience, especially when the food is actually quite good and a few of the staff are friendly and welcoming.

I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously and keep your workers in check. A little respect and basic customer service go a long way — and it’s a shame to see good food paired with such poor service.

Review of BBQ Town, i-City

I recently visited BBQ Town at i-City for a mini celebration, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired.

The sliced meat was decent, especially when paired with the sauces—though it’s a matter of knowing how to combine them effectively. Beyond that, there wasn’t much to praise. The grill area was disappointingly small, making the entire grilling experience cramped compared to places like Seoul Garden, which offer more spacious setups.

The soup was bland and unremarkable. While they provide a variety of items, most were not particularly appealing. The sushi was a major letdown—unimpressive and seemingly there just for show. I ended up taking some only for the wasabi kick. The garlic fried rice was another disappointment, lacking any real garlic flavor. On top of that, their rice cooker was faulty, adding to the frustration.

One of the ice cream machines was out of order for the entirety of my visit. Although I managed to get some ice cream from another machine, the first few tries resulted in melted servings. Even when functional, the quality of the ice cream was subpar.

The seating arrangements were uncomfortable, and moving around to get food felt like navigating a maze due to the cramped space. Drinks were not sweet, which was fine by me, but the overall dining atmosphere felt chaotic.

Service was another weak point. The waitstaff struggled with basic English, leading to repeated explanations just to get a point across.

Overall, the experience didn’t justify the price. BBQ Town seems like it’s trying to emulate Seoul Garden, but it falls short in nearly every aspect. For the life of me, I can’t understand why there’s a queue for this place. I won’t be returning.

Oh ya, one more thing- u get free fried chickens. It comes crispy but it is flavourless, mostly oily.

Everything about this place feels exactly the same as Suki-Ya. The buffet selection, the ice cream and much more. With that being said, we were thrilled to find a halal Japanese grill/steamboat buffet here because we were staying at the hotel next door. The price is about 60 per person for dinner on a weekend. The meat selection (beef, lamb, chicken) were alright, but I really enjoyed the sauces and buffet station where I took items such as mushroom and some cheesy products. The ice cream was not bad at all to end the meal with. But what really disgusted me about this place was how badly cleaned the cups were. They felt oily and sticky. I know they need to clean things quickly but it felt so disgusting. The floors were equally as oily, an accident waiting to happen. Hope this can be improved!

I came on Saturday noon time, didn’t need to queue. Service was quite fast, we were served with broths within 10 minutes. They have a variety of broths but the original sukiyaki was my favourite. Pumpkin soup is surprising nice as well. They offer a variety of ingredients for the hotpot. However, we experienced that it was hard to get the attention of the staff. I’ll be back to try the herbal soup next time.

Good place to hangout with family and friends especially during festive seasons. A lot seats available but still need to queue for a while even is during weekdays. The food choices are many and fresh and worth trying. Service crew is wonderful.

Just like sukiya but here you can grill your meat and they provide prawns as well. Even there were some different sauces. They also give you free fried chicken once you are done with your meat fiasco.

The pot was too small even for two person, imagine four people eating using the same pot – catastrophic. The soup was too bland in my opinion. We were unlucky with our table spot (most right side at the back), the lighting was so bad we had to use our own phone flashlight to see clearly the air ventilation was poor at where we sat. Definitely not a pleasant experience since this was our first time.

Thank god we came early before 12pm, there was no line but the restaurant was full house. We finished around 1-ish, and we saw a zig-zag line of people waiting and mind you it was Friday afternoon.

The food was okay. But the place are too crowded and almost no space which makes me uncomfortable to eat. Feels like eating in a crowded cheap canteen enviroment. AS for the staff, they are doing a great job when are asked like utensils or additonal meat, but i dont know for some reason they seem look like a little bit disrespect us as customer and always making unwelcoming faces as if i was asking for their money to eat at this place.

The food is not bad. Too experience the best time to dine at BBQ town would be afternoon til evening 5pm. And the service and the hygiene is well maintained. If you’re going on a pick hours like weekends or after 7pm it will be quite crowded. I’ll give it a 8/10.

Everything was fine and I didn’t expect this. From the Food, Price , Staffs. I will recommend this Restaurant to replace the Seoul Garden. Here, you don’t have to pay extra for premium like Seoul Garden. You just call the waiter and they will get it for you. Lamb/beef/prawns and the sauces too are variety dan memang sedap! Not to forget, nice ambient, clean and music so relaxing. Pleas bring your own wet tissue ya as they don’t have sink . I will rate 5/5 for my first visit. I don’t know why but I really frust will Seoul Garden today. Visited on Sunday around 1.30pm 13/9/2020. Thank you, will visit you guys again!
