Fantastic food and friendly service. I had the brisket and dirty rice. Unique little place and they did not nickel and dime me for extra sauce, etc. My only suggestion for improvement would be to have a little background music because it was a little too quiet, even with customers in there. I will return next time I’m in Center, Texas!

I miss the old BBQ joint with the old owners. Ever since the new owners took over prices have gone up and the poppers have shrunk to about half their size (and cost more). Just today I tried to get the fish special but because I don’t like coleslaw they we’re going to force me buy it and throw it in the trash. That’s not cool.
I’ve gone by 2 or 3 times to try and give him another shot but every time I get shot down with something else. I used to love their potatoes with barbecue beef but now they’ve changed where you can only get their special on Wednesday with chicken so I guess no more potatoes for me.

I came here with a coworker twice within one week because the food was great, BUT the customer service we received from the owners were extraordinary! James and Anita truly know how to make you feel welcomed the moment you walk through the door until the moment you walk out. We had the fried chicken on one day and the fish on another. The chicken was perfectly fried and seasoned to perfection. James even took the time to make a fresh batch for my coworker. He was engaging and talked with us as if we had been friends for years. The next visit we had the fish which was prepared with the same tasteful results as the chicken. A little souther twist he shared with us was that the fish needed to be eaten with onion and pickle to bring out the exceptional flavor of the fish. We were A bit skeptical but after trying this unique pairing he was spot on. Great food, great conversation, and most of all the southern hospitality was the best I’ve ever had. Keep up the good work. Anytime I’m in this area I’ll certain be back!!

Since the new owners took over, the one meat plate only comes with one side and a drink (Tea and Juice) no soda. Also they are giving way less meat. And even though the potato salad and cole slaw is supposed to be homemade it looks like it came from a bag. The brisket is very good.

They have good brisket and the BEST baked beans!! Even great potato salad. And the prices r very good. But they r NEVER OPEN!!! I’ve been trying to order from there for WEEKS and I don’t know if they’re closed for good or what but they r never open! It doesn’t say that they’re closed for good but they haven’t been open for over 3 months.

Mid June 2023, my then fiance (BBQ judge) and I decide to have B&D cater our wedding. We both love the food. Due to the heat, only about half the folks showed up. After the reception, we had a lot of leftovers. We asked our guests if they wanted anything… flowers, champagne, wine, beer… Almost immediately a flash mob of guests appeared in our kitchen to form an assembly line and bag up BBQ and sides to take home. Food is awesome. Ribs fall off the bone (meat lolipops). Catering price for the wedding was half what I had budgetted. It’s real deal Texas BBQ with a home town family atmosphere. Hmm… just called to put in an order. They answered with “Hello Mr. Frank!”

Honestly I’m up on a Saturday morning wishing B&D was open today. This is the best Bbq in the whole wide world. I never put bbq sauce on my bbq meat it taste delicious” as is” not to mention the beef ribs are so tender. I drive 45 minutes away just to get the best BBQ an it’s definitely worth the drive.
