BBQ was good. In my opinion it’s about the same as all the other BBQ spot with it’s pros and cons. The burnt ends were great, just wish it didnt cost so much on the market. This place is great for a little get together away from the home and enjoy a beer at the same time.

Really good BBQ … but slightly pricey.
A 1/2 lb. of brisket will run you 15.00. That’s what Aaron Franklin charges in Austin … but even notable BBQ joints (Killen’s / Truth) are less than 12.00 a lb. Fortunately, the brisket is really really good … very moist and nice bark. I especially liked the pork ribs. I’m not a huge fan of a wet rib … I prefer a dry peppery rub but these ribs were excellent and will likely be the reason I keep coming back. Sausage was good as well … they only sold jalapeno sausage while we there but I believe that’s what most people in Texas order. The burnt-ends were sold out … which is normal for the time of day we went. If you’re not sold out of burnt-ends early in the day, then you’re probably doing something wrong. The coleslaw was average … I don’t often run into spectacular coleslaw unless it’s a vinegar based recipe (no mayo) but all my friends wrinkle their faces when I try to explain this to them. Last, but certainly not least, the sweet potato casserole is unbelievable. I love BBQ but I also like a good selection of sides and the sweet potato casserole was a definite winner. One more thing to note was the excellent order taker person at the window … very pleasant and a bright smiley face … nice job Godfather’s. I’d wear your T-shirt. : )

Very “healthy” portion of meat on sandwich, but sorry it’s just too spicy for my tastes. Oh so tender meat though. Mac N Chz and Sweet Potato Casserole are out of this world.

I’ve been wanting to try this food for a while now, but I’m not a fan of crowded areas. I’m sad I never thought to stop by after work before now lol. I don’t think I’ve ever had more tender brisket. I bought brisket, ribs, sausage, potato salad, Mac n cheese, and a pulled pork sandwich! It was enough food for a family of 4, but my son and I made it dinner for 2 lol. One single slice of brisket survived our attack. Top notch flavor on every single item. 10 stars

This place is amazing. Had the burnt end sandwich, with the Mac and Cheese side, with a tea. Everything was perfect. Will definitely be back again to try out the other stuff on the menu. Had an opportunity to speak with the owner about his BBQ. This guy knows what’s up. If you are in the area, and enjoy good barbecue, this is the place to go.

I met these guys in Center Point, TX, helping feed first responders after the flood in the Kerrville area. It looks like they loaded up and drove 300 miles to give food away to help
after a disaster. That would be reason enough to buy BBQ from them in McAllen but the BBQ was excellent! Moist, Smokey and delicious. Spend some money with them, they’re good people serving great BBQ!

I had to try the place out and it was pretty good. I had brisket and rib platter. Yes, single rib. I have never had a 2 meat platter at any other BBQ place that gives one rib. So that was disappointing plus the fact the price was about 3 dollars higher than what I pay at other spots and get more. The brisket was kind of rubbery as well. With the above mentioned, certainly not getting a great rating. But neither extremely bad as I have had worse.
