Best BBQ we’ve had in a very long time, and we’ve had LOT’S of BBQ. A smaller place with not alot of seating, so plan your dining accordingly and maybe avoid peak times. My wife had Pulled Pork w/ Mac and Cheese, and I had Brisket w/ Baked Beans. I have always loved Beans with meat added to the recipe, and if you’re like me … you must try these Beans. The Brisket was cooked to perfection, and my wife saidd the Pulled Pork and Mac and Cheese were also over the top. A very clean place to boot, and this is VERY important to weary travelers like us. Check this place out!

I really wanted to like DNA BBQ since it was our first time trying them and I love supporting Black-owned businesses, but unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. I ordered a baked potato with two meats, and everything was dry — the potato, the meats, all of it. The chopped brisket had no moisture, and the chicken didn’t taste fresh; it came across like pre-packaged chicken.
My boyfriend ordered a sandwich and the bread was the “end pieces,” plus they barely put any sauce on it. The young man working seemed overwhelmed and unorganized, and the food didn’t appear freshly cooked — we didn’t smell a grill or smoker, and it looked like everything was being kept warm in hot pots.
For the price we paid ($36), the quality just wasn’t there. We left unsatisfied and won’t be returning. I hate feeling like I wasted money, especially when I’m trying to support a business in the community.

Wow, this place is a whole vibe — a literal father and son operation. They’re hilariously kind people talking to everyone that comes in like family, knew most of their regulars by name… extremely generous giving out samples to newcomers, and I haven’t even mentioned how good the bbq is. Hands down the best I’ve had in Dallas. I had the burnt end loaded potato, and I can’t recommend it enough.

Would have liked to try it out since I see good reviews and I happened to be parked a few blocks away, so I took the walk to get something good to eat nearby only to be met with a “Sorry we’re closed” sign at 4:30 p.m. when Google says they don’t close until 5:30. Oh well. 1 star for not having the correct hours posted.

This place is a special gem. Just a black owned business serving up some good smoked meats in the middle of downtown. It’s low key, some space inside for a few large tables but the vibe of sitting at your uncles house for a cookout.
The food was delicious, brisket juicy, sausage, smoky and sides, well seasoned with flavor. Portions were generous and the owners made me feel right at home and made certain that anything I needed or wanted was taken care of. I left in a better mood than I was in! Great place and can’t wait to come back!

We showed up and they were closed for the day due to being busy doing some catering for an event. However, the owner saw us loitering outside looking confused and invited us in. He gave us a box of free samples and a drink and he and his wife engaged in some jovial conversation with us telling us all about how they are able to cook their meat perfectly all halal no pork. Showed us the brisket and how perfectly soft it was. They were all awesome people telling us their life stories while preparing for their catering event. Stuck around for half an hour talking to them. Unfortunately was unable to get a full lunch there that day but the samples they gave us were amazing and a lot.
Will definitely come back when they are open again amazing food run by amazing people!

Enthusiastically welcome by owners The Olivers with a sample of the turkey BBQ and the beef sausage. We enjoyed a delightful and delicious meal of the loaded potatoes, chicken wings with the homemade baked beans and potatoes salad. If you are ever in Dallas, or if you live there you have to stop by to 211 N. Ervay and check out the menu. The meals are reasonable prices and the service is excellent. ❤️

A great spot for the classic BBQ. Everything here is kosher friendly. No pork sold here. Beef is amazing especially the burnt ends. The beans with the meat inside was a nice touch. Will be back again for a proper review and try more items on their menu.
Flip side review: tried going three times. Once it was closed due to a personal matter (according to their Facebook), the second time we went at 3pm on a Tuesday and they were sold out already. Then another time I tried calling and no one answered. With that in mind, while they have an online ordering page I was hesitant because it doesn’t reflect sold out items. My advice is to get there between 11:30am and 1pm for the best experience and support this amazing small business kicking the bigger competitions rear in terms of quality of soulful BBQ.

Delicious burnt ends & sweet tea.
The service was great but we were a little bit tight for time and it took a bit longer than expected. If we had less of a schedule to keep, it would have been more enjoyable for us.

Upon entering the restaurant on a Friday afternoon, my wife and I were greeted warmly by the owners. We order the chopped brisket, sandwich, Mac and cheese, and on a whim decided for the burnt ends baked potato. When we ordered the potato, the owners said they were going to make a TikTok video and asked us to come up to the counter and watch them make it. I haven’t had that much fun at a restaurant in a long time! You can see the labor of love they put into making their food, and you can tell by how good everything tastes. The father, mother, and son trio are running a fantastic restaurant, and it was the best Texas welcome I could ask for. You need to finish your meal with the strawberry banana pudding as well! Atypical from standard banana pudding, but MY GOODNESS it’s tasty!!
