I chartered a large group of seniors here for lunch and the food was good. The salad bar was a bonus that I wasn’t expecting, but upon entering the pies caught my eyes. If you ever ride by this place, stop in, dine, but please save some room for the pies.

Just a gem! Rachel H was our server and absolutely delightful. The cheese curds, shrimp, kids menu (corn dogs and pasta), vegetarian burger (with a side of horseradish sauce and BBQ) were all great. We got many types of fries and enjoyed the waffle fries the best. The Oreo cheesecake was also wonderful. Look forward to returning!

Went there for Valentine’s Day. Reservations at 7PM. Sat down at 7:05PM so this was wonderful. Sat there until 7:35PM. No waitress. Not even to ask if we wanted a drink. Nothing. There were I think 6 tables in the area we sat in. Two tables left during that time (done eating). The one next to us kept saying, has anyone even seen our waitress?? It looked like they were waiting for to go containers. They were still waiting when we left. I saw one person give the one table containers for leftovers. So this means in 30 minutes nobody had refills on drinks either. Called another restaurant and could get in at 8:30PM. Drove 40 minutes away just to eat dinner at 830PM. It was supposed to be a really nice dinner with my daughter and I as it has been a rough couple months for us (divorce). Very disappointing.

I stopped here for dinner today. It is Friday. They had a lot of options for their fish fry. They had everything from cod to walleye. I got the bluegill! It was delicious. I really liked the tarter sauce, it had large chunks of pickles in it. It came with a choice from a long list of items for a side. I got the garlic red potatoes. And the dinner came with the soup and salad bar! All for a great price of $14.99. It was a great deal! Great food and great service. I give this place two thumbs up for tonight’s dinner.

We are new to the area and visited on Sunday AM for brunch. Food was great at a good price. They had a breakfast/brunch buffet that day with a good selection. Our server (Lisa?) Was amazing, super friendly and attentive We will definitely be back.

A hidden gem. Went from recommendation from nurse from hospital. Very welcoming place with home cooking and salad bar. Both our meals were very hot & tasty and enjoyed the salad bar. Place is an older place and is a bit dark inside. Very friendly staff and customers.

This place popped up when looking for restaurants around Portage. Decided to check it out on a day trip to Portage. I got the 2 piece beer battered cod and my girlfriend got the baked cod. Both were absolutely delicious. Service was perfect and our orders came out promptly. Food was delicious and hot. Thanks for a great lunch visit.

My youngest daughter age 19 comes for a visit I haven’t seen her in 5 months, we always go to The hitching Post for the spinach artichoke dip (our) favorite appetizer ❤️ we ordered that as an appetizer,and entre she had a shrimp wrap, and I had deep fried mushrooms.She takes a few bites into it she stops and she pulls out a piece of shrimp takes the breading off thinking taste was in the breading… She sees the black vein line (intestines). So she continued to just pull all the shrimp out and eat the wrap. Soon disgusted she just put it aside.Our server was great. She apologized and ended up taking it off the bill. And we were like they may not even know about it. If they’re ordering it from a shady distributor how do they know.. so yeah you might want to follow up on that. Sad because we always have a good time when she visits and she loves the spinach artichoke dip

My son and daughter-in-law went to this restaurant for Valentine’s Day. They waited 2 and a 1 hours for their food and then got the wrong food. The 2 steaks that they ordered were supposed to be 1 rare 1 medium-rare one state came out, cooked to death and the other one was not cooked right either. They asked what the problem was, and the man they talked to could barely speak English. No, do better.You ruined my kids.Valentine’s day
