I had high hopes, but the biryani was not great. I also ordered chicken 65 because they said it was dry but what I got was wet and had vegetables. I’ve never ordered c65 and it came with green/red peppers and onions. The portions are also incredibly small for 16-18$ per dish. See for yourself. 2 orders of c65 (which is not what I got) and a sampler trio that had two pieces of shrimp, 2 small pieces of chicken/lamb. Over-priced. Total of $70 for this. What a disappointment. The egg biryani is unlike any biryani I’ve ever ordered. The little trio was so small for $18. I’m perplexed as to how it cost that much for so little. Google “egg biryani” and “chicken 65”. Look how different it looks from what I got. Minus the bad stuff, the place looked nice and the staff was friendly. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning based off that.

Best Indian food in Raleigh! The Bazil La-Jawab Chicken was creamy and perfect for me (I can’t handle spicy). My husband loved the the Lamb Kuzhambu and it had more of a kick! Highly recommend their cocktails as well! The pomegranate basil bliss martini was amazing on the side of our samosa appetizer.

Absolutely Impeccable Dining Experience!

My boyfriend and I chose Bazil for our Christmas Day meal, and we couldn’t have been happier that we did, as it far exceeded any hopes and expectations. From the moment we entered the restaurant, we were greeted with genuine warmth and welcomed by every member of the staff. The place is beautifully decorated, and pictures don’t do its ambience justice. We were taken care of by the most charming young man, who epitomized exceptional service. I have minimal exposure to Indian cuisine, and was blown away by this unique and delicious culinary experience.

First, our drinks came, which were the pinnacle of cocktail mixology. I had the Lychee Rose Petal Martini, and my partner had the Sharabi Mango Lassi. The rose petal cocktail was light and botanical, so lovely as if I were sipping on a rose. The mango was tropical and very tasty, and light enough to enjoy with a meal. For the appetizer, we selected the Vegetarian Appetizer platter, which was perfectly battered and fried. I preferred the spicy cauliflower bites the best, whereas my boyfriend loved the spinach fritters. For the main course, I went with the Badami Malai Surf & Turf, and he opted for the Apricot Glazed Sea Bass. It was my first time trying lamb, and it was wonderfully spiced and perfectly cooked. The giant shrimps were tender, and the chicken was also delicious.

But then…there was the sauce. We have all had a great sauce, but this sauce touched upon the divine. Rich, creamy, and nutty with just the right amount of spice, it was so scrumptious that if I were at home, especially if I was alone, I would have licked up every ounce. To accompany our fantastic meals was amazing Basil Garlic Cheese Naan, which was simply one of the most delectable pieces of bread we have ever tasted. It would be safe to say that Bazil single-handedly transformed my taste for Indian Cuisine. Thank you for making our Christmas Day outing spectacular. We can’t wait to explore more of your incredible menu.

It was one of the best lunches I have eaten at an Indian restaurant, a vegetarian thali and a Chat. Thali was a big meal so we shared among 2 people, it was great value and it could have been vegan with a few small substitutions or even gluten free according to the owner Abhishek Kumar himself. They had quite a few other lunch specials with chicken, seafood and lamb/goat meat. I will certainly recommend Bazil for all occasions, this is my new favorites in Raleigh. Here you pay for the food you get good food, more value for your money and not a circus of exploding lava on your dining table. Thanks Bazil and their team you guys did a good job!

This was one of the best meals I have ever had. I’m from New Orleans too so that says a lot.
Service was impeccable.
I will be returning to this restaurant every time I come to Raleigh. Truly amazing food. The dessert was refreshing and the flavor profiles were exquisite. Our host and wait staff were absolutely top notch. They made us feel like we were VIP. I cannot say enough about how wonderful this whole experience was. If you are looking for excellent cuisine and an absolutely fantastic experience then this is your restaurant.

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Bazil and I can confidently say it was one of the best Indian meals I’ve ever had. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, attentive, and made us feel right at home.

The food was simply outstanding. The butter chicken was rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor—every bite was pure perfection. The samosas were crispy, perfectly spiced, and absolutely to die for. And just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, the pistachio ice cream arrived—smooth, fragrant, and truly heavenly.

If you’re looking for authentic Indian cuisine with top-notch service, Bazil is a must-visit. I can’t wait to come back!

I really enjoyed the dining experience here. I think the service was absolutely outstanding, and the atmosphere was clean and well decorated. Everything we ordered tasted great, the flavors were on point, and the spice level of each dish was on par with what was requested. Portion to price ratio was good as well, not much more you could ask for! Will be back for sure.

We came in on Tuesday night for our anniversary. There was no wait at door but we did have to wait a while to receive our food. The food was great. The Nann was insanely good maybe the best I’ve had in NC. Our waiter though, he was next level. This man was a walking breath of fresh air and sunshine and made our experience 300% better. Great energy. We were only able to eat a little before we had to leave due to long wait time on food and the fact we had to get back to relieve our baby sitter. But this place is great. I’m not from Raleigh but I would definitely return when I’m in the area.

We recently dined at Bazil on a Weds evening which was our 2nd visit within a month and thoroughly enjoyed both experiences. All items were cooked to perfection using multiple classical Indian spices that you can actually detect, artistically presented with nice portion sizes, and all dishes complimented the others quite well in taste and variety. A must try is the tandoori sea bass — perfect! Definitely check out the excellent beer and wine list.
Finally, the superb staff’s sincerity, attention to detail, and knowledge in recommending and describing numerous menu items made us feel like very special guests. Thank you for a wonderful dinner. We shall return often.
