Set way out
On the South shore in Islip is this wonderful little clam bar.

It’s bigger than I expected
Well on the outside. And it’s all outside
I mean all of it
There’s only a few seats inside but boy it’s quaint in there as well.

It’s super quaint outside. It’s the place to go I would say if you want to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere of the South shore the breezes the marina in front of it the deer that are on the outside and the outskirts that’s sort of greet you because people feed them. Which they shouldn’t but you know hey whatever who might of judge

Which eyewitnessed someone stopping to feed them. And I was wondering when I rode up on my motorcycle.. why are they just two feet away from me and looking at me? Oh someone must have feed them is what I was thinking immediately. Yeah I’m lo and behold I’m right..

Anyway let’s get back to the review

So I walk in and it’s busy so I just go to the bar and the hostess is wonderful and I can order from the bar so I just want a iced tea and clams on a half shell

It’s so busy the bartender doesn’t really notice me until 3 other people walk up and order before me but I’m tucked in the corner. I’m okay with it because I’m observing This is a review right.

She’s really engaging even though it’s so busy she asks every person what their name is like she’s meeting you for the first time which she is. They say hi I’m Joe she says hi I’m Tracy after she asked what’s your name is. It’s just a really nice personal thing even amongst the busyness

Then the next people come up she does the same thing

Then she comes over to me finally and says oh my goodness I didn’t see you there That’s okay I’m just kind of chilling over here in the corner.

I’m Tracy Hi I’m Paul Hi Paul..
Just nice

I order my clams in there taking quite a bit of time considering they’re on they have shell but it’s busy you know there’s a band outside actually the one I came to see

The clams are a bonus.
She apologizes for the wait. And says good things come to those who wait.

Well I couldn’t agree more Tracy

We briefly interact and I say hey I’m just here really to see the band Cool I’m the one who books them well good because they’re great..

It’s ’80s ’90s l i r – d r e 92.7. from back in the day New Wave. Kind of cool I’m there just for that.

So I get my clams to go outside and it’s just so beautiful. The band is playing the sun is setting and the view from there is spectacular.

Beyond highly recommended to come here. Especially if there’s a band playing. They have all these Adirondack chairs that are set up right in front of the stage that or just for you to sit in You don’t need to be seated just go. I order my clams and got close to them but decide to stay a little further back. Just to take it all in

People show up in the left side of the parking lot with chairs and just like set them out to listen to the bands.

Totally awesome didn’t even know this existed. So grateful to find it

Sunset with spectacular

I will 100% be back again
Hidden little gem

Oh PS
Observation of the
They hustle they are hustling hustling hustling they are moving moving. I mean sitting at the bar gave me time to watch the hustle and there’s a revolving door for the kitchen and nothing didn’t even sit still for a second. I was in the industry when I was younger and this is a hustling crew I’ll tell you they just did not stop moving communicating etc.
If your food is not coming out on time it’s just because it’s busy.

Overpriced for what you get. Came at 7:15 pm on a Sunday night and I had to wait over 30 mins to sit down. The place was chill and it looked pretty nice but everything just took forever. When I sat down the server gave me the usual few mins then took my order but then here’s where things started to flip for this place big time. For starters, $48 for a lobster roll!? You have to be kidding me for a place like this, you’re not even in manhattan. Appetizer came out at a normal speed but calamari was a little rubbery. The dinner though took a VERY long time. I sat there for 45 mins waiting on a burger and a lobster roll, absolutely ridiculous when they were just cooling down on the busyness. I wouldn’t mind IF it was actually good but the burger was very unappetizing and the lobster roll was definitely not worth $48 or the wait. They did attempt at live music, and they are on the water so it is a nice atmosphere only problem there is it is very busy and can get a little loud. I did notice a bar while waiting so I don’t know how the drinks and stuff are but I will never come here for the food ever again, for the prices I paid here I could go a few miles east to a place called manninos and get a whole veal chop full course meal WITH dessert and drinks for only 30$ more then I spent in this place. What a shame.

I just got a fried seafood combo. Shrimp clams and cod. It was as expected. Only one person serving at the bar and the tables. She was nice end hospitable. The room is fresh and clean looking.

What a great place in the water! It’s so good when you find a place that has good views, live music, the food is actually really good AND the service is great! The dipper fries are a must! Thank me later!

Friendly is the one word that describes this place. You feel welcomed and that’s not always the case these days, not here though, the staff goes out of its way to see you are being taking care of. This is a casual local place specializing in seafood and the menus give you many options. I just wish there were more non-fried choices. Still though the relaxed atmosphere, closeness to water, live bands, and most of all Friendly staff will keep bringing us back for sure! Check out the clams on the half shell, fried calamari, and Hawaiian Scallops (coconut crusted) entree, all excellent! And so much more to try…Oh the Blue Point blueberry beer was very refreshing, as is their own “Bayside” draft too!

My husband wanted me to give this place a 4.97 rating “because it’s awesome” 🙂

We arrived just after 5.30pm on a Thursday afternoon — out-of-staters looking for a quiet meal by the water. Google Maps brought up this place and here we are!

It was a tad noisy when we first walked inside the bar to announce our arrival (lol), so we chose to sit outside — we loved the tables and the view, though it was a tad chilly for the second day of summer, with grey clouds and a slight breeze. Sadly, there was no live music because of the weather — and you could tell from chatting with staff that they were frustrated by this.

Service was quick and very friendly, and our food was served piping hot and very fresh! I was a tad nervous about reviews that mentioned a lack of proper silverware and plates, but we had both and it was great!

My husband went for a burger (our server’s recommendation) and he said it was “awesome”. My veggie burger was officially the best burger I may have ever had! The onion rings were also incredibly fresh and super yum!

Despite the lack of live music, we enjoyed the choice of music over the speakers and I can imagine this place is full of atmosphere during the warmer summer months.

Extensive menu with lots to choose from — would definitely return!

Come down to this establishment and have a good time. Many different bands play out by the water. So you can enjoy music from local musicians. It is a good burger restaurant that has a perfect location alongside a nice marina. Ample parking is available. On a nice afternoon/evening, come down, visit, and enjoy.

It was the perfect weather for yummy food, frozen cocktails, live music on the water. Our server was helpful, sweet and swamped with customers. The food was good and not expensive. The cocktails could add quickly ($13-15). It’s not fair to give them a poor rating for slow service because they were very busy. We had a great evening.

When you think of summer in Long Island, this is an ideal location. Water view. Seafood. And of course cold drinks. A little off the beaten path but definitely a great location to go to. Outdoor seating with live music playing. A great restaurant to go to and hang out for a couple of hours.
I’ve been there a few times and each time I’ve tried something new. There hasn’t been a meal there that I wouldn’t reorder it again. I recommend the buffalo calamari.
