Bayou Nola

BayouNOLA’s roots are naturally New Orleans and trace to former Arnaud’s Restaurant Chef Walter Landry (See Times Picayune article published May 18, 1991). Upon retirement and prior to his passing, Chef Walter trained his grandson Chef Nathaniel on the techniques of how to prepare authentic Creole food and especially the Creole Gumbo and the Boiled Crawfish. After his training Chef Nathaniel knew this was the cuisine he was meant to craft and share with others – one that brings his roots to the surface, and celebrates a story of many generations. We invite you to share in the story. To indulge in flavors with substance.

I visited over a year ago and still talk about how great the gumbo was! Exemplifying how much I loved it, I searched for this restaurant today in hopes I can use the menu’s gumbo description as a starting point for my best attempt at replicating. I recommend stopping by for a bowl!

The gumbo and red beans and rice are so amazing. I want to have them every day Every time I come to the Garage I want to try other things but I usually can’t pass up Bayou Nola. We have had their fries too, they’re also reallly good. They’re so nice here too. Martinsburg is so lucky to have them here.☺️

Gumbo was very poor. It was underseasoned and had far too much sausage. We were dining in, yet it was served in plastic “to go” lidded containers with all the rice on the bottom and only a small plastic spoon provided for eating it, which was impossible. Don’t waste your time or money at this place.

The hours of operation aren’t listed. I drove 30 mins last week on a Tuesday and The Garage was open, but Bayou Nola is closed on Tuesdays. Not only is that a completely random day to be closed but the main restaurant is open but you aren’t? That makes no sense. Today I saw them on Doordash and got so excited! Went to order, only 2 of their whopping 7 menu items are available I give up. All I want is some damn Jambalaya.
