I was really glad to see a new restaurant in town that wasn’t Mexican. I was so hopeful. What a disappointment. $20 Cajun chicken was a joke. Tiny and not much cajun about it. Gator bites were awful, like rubber. Small portion too. Catfish plate was large enough but the batter was the strangest hard shell and not good. Slaw was meh. The hours are ridiculous, close at 6? My family of 6 don’t even think about winding down to eat until 7. Lewisburg is full of commuters on their way home from work in Nashville, likely still stuck in traffic on 65 at 840. Hard advice here, listen up – fix your portions, revamp your menu items/quality/price and stay open until 9 if you want to have a prayer of making it in the restaurant business in this town. I wish you luck and will try you again if reviews indicate a change.

some of the worst food i’ve had, let alone the worst cajun food. the first time i ate there i orders a 16 dollar ‘poboy sandwich that contained a total of 3 shrimp. 16 dollars for a sandwich with more lettuce than meat. I attempted to eat there a second time hoping i just caught them on a bad day, ordered the gumbo, and asked about the ‘poboy. i was told 3-5 was the actual number of pieces that were supposed to be there. upon receiving the gumbo, i got a limp, watery, flavorless slop with a few pieces of meat and shrimp in it, green peppers that were boiled to mush, and rice that was soo uncooked you could tell by looking at it. Seriously, i dropped some of the rice and “soup” on the lid to take a picture to share with friends. dont waste your time, absolute garbage.

We saw them open up down the street and the Cajun food peaked our interest so we tried them for the first time tonight. We had the frog leg plate and gator bites plate. It was great, freshly cooked food and the portions sizes were generous for price. The staff was friendly and it seemed like a family atmosphere. We will definitely be going back to try more of the menu.

I wanted something different but didn’t want to drive to Columbia remembering this place that a friend and I wanted to try. I decided on the po’ boy catfish and fries. My sister picked up the food due to me not feeling well. The food arrived and I noticed the regular hot dog buns and the catfish looked like a piece of chicken tender. It was mushy and not tasty at all. Fries were ok. My debit card was also stolen there due to my sister forgetting it on the counter and they “claimed” that they didn’t see it.

The catfish was hard as a rock on the outside and mushy on the inside, and it also had an unusual odor. When I brought this to the owner’s attention, he suggested that if I didn’t appreciate authentic fish, I should consider dining at Captain D’s. This interaction prompted me to share my experience. Given the price point, I do not believe the value is commensurate. The use of plastic cutlery, styrofoam cups, and takeout containers is not what I would anticipate for a $20 catfish meal.

We got the crab boil. Absolutely fantastic! Everything especially the sausage was perfect! Also tried the fried oyster and chili, both were great. The breading on the oyster was great!

Called in order, for 15 minutes, but waited 30 minutes after there to pick up. Shrimp were cooked too long, they were chewy by the time we got home
