First time visit. Was a little skeptical when I heard it was a restaurant attached to a gas station. But it was good. I had the catfish with 3 sides and all of it was good. I heard their sushi is some of the best in the area. It did look really good, but I’m not a fan of sushi. Customer service was on point!

My husband and I are avid watchers of True South. John T Edge has never led us wrong before, so when he recommends a gas station for its sushi, we were a little skeptical. I have never been proven wrong so fast. Hands down the best sushi I have had in a decade. The spicy tuna roll slaps in the best way possible. The three color roll was flavorful and perfect. I don’t even like California rolls, and this one was amazing. It was a little bit of a wait, but 100% worth it. The restaurant was friendly and crowded in the best way. It was like eating with all your extended family. The servers were attentive and sweet. We drove an hour for it and it was well worth it.

Every time I come to Alabama I make it a point to stop by for their sushi. It is always fresh and creative. The staff are personable and no matter how busy it is, they make it a point to check in.
Don’t let the fact that their establishment is a part of a gas station dissuade you. This place is incredible.

When you say gas station sushi, at first, it illicits concern. But, that’s before you taste it and realize it is literally, by far, the best sushi in the area. And, it actually rivals some sushi restaurants in large cities.
I have lived away from Jasper, Alabama for over 25 years. I’ve eaten a lot of sushi. I can confidently say this is some really good sushi and really good seafood.
The sushi was really good. I love sashimi and Nigiri. And, a lot for it to taste fresh. This sushi does. It is very well prepared.
I’m a sucker for a salad with ginger dressing. This one is very delicious. All the other items that I’ve tasted here check all the boxes of good, fresh, and tasty seafood. It’s all well prepared and seasoned very well.
If you are coming through Jasper, this is a place you wanna check out.

Just happened to stop get gas and was hungry. What followed was the best sushi experience I’ve had in America since coming back from Japan five years ago.
The fish is fresh and not cold, the rice actually tastes like sushi rice with a little bit of sweetness, and there is no dumb flair of extra spicy mayo and bbq lines all over the plate to cover up poor craftsmanship.
A treat.

When I rate this as hands down the best Cajón cuisine and Sushi house in a two state radius, believe it to be true. Very cosy, small interior, but don’t be fooled by the location. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable servers, owners are the best, and watching the wife’s hands expertly create my eel Nigiri and other delicious plates was an absolute pleasure. I definitely also recommend the Gator Po’boy. 10/10/10. Put this place in your GPS and enjoy, but not on Sunday or Monday – the two days this amazing place takes a rest.

You may not think twice about going to a sushi joint attached to a ‘rundown’ gas station, but you should. This place is amazing. You can’t beat the prices and the fish are delivered fresh everyday. I came here at the suggestion of a hotel receptionist and it was a great decision.
I ordered the chef’s salad and it came full of every fish meat I could imagine and included some lettuce and other Japanese things. This will forever be my go-to place in Jasper.
Compliments to the sushi chef. Thank you for preparing such great food.

The location will make you think twice, but the food is fantastic. We only got sushi, and loved our rolls. I dont think you could go wrong. The smoked tuna dip was amazing, a great starter. Will return!

If you have ever been told that gas station sushi is garbage. YOU’RE WRONG, well at least you’re wrong about Bayou. The friendly staff in this tiny attached restaurant to a gas station was nothing but delightful. Being that I am not from the south I really appreciate the direction and advice with their menu. I tried a little of everything and it was all freshly prepared and delicious. I was surprised bec up north I get some nice sushi but this was very comparable for a random hole in the wall.
I had the calamari, miso soup, a Combo of 8 sushi pieces and a roll, on top of the crawfish roll. I was pleasantly surprised. Sushi rice is hard to pull off and I would say there’s was right on the money. Their menu was filled with many options and I was happy to walk in and see all the fresh take home fresh cut fish on ice and specials listed.
I travel for work and I can def say I would be back!
