If you’re seeking excellent fried chicken, this rustic Cajun restaurant is worth the trip. Though it’s a bit off the beaten path, the food more than compensates.
Their fried chicken is cooked fresh to order, so expect a 20-minute wait that is absolutely justified. For about $11, a four-piece meal with a side features incredibly crunchy and juicy wings, drumsticks, thighs, and breast.
The seafood gumbo and boudin balls are also good, but the fried chicken is the real highlight. The service is friendly, and the setting, which includes riverfront seating and a small resident alligator, adds to the fun, authentic vibe.

Local family restaurant with delicious food and fun atmosphere. Truly enjoyed the fried alligator. Its a must for sure. The grilled Cajun shrimp was top notch. Definitely recommend!

Mt first visit … I tried the fried chicken after reading the online reviews. I thought the fried chicken was mediocre at best. It was crispy; but, rather bland (not well seasoned). I also felt as though my order (they fry their chicken upon order – 20 minute wait) was fried a bit too long. It had a somewhat “scorched” taste to the battered coating. All in all, the service was great! The restaurant was clean and comfortable (although it was a bit cold in the dining room area). The bayou in the back was charming! I will stop in again the next time that I am in the area; however, I probably won’t be ordering the fried chicken. Thank you, Bayou Delight!

The food is always good. Shared large seafood platter with my mom. We both enjoyed it and even had leftovers to bring home. Not too much leftover, just enough for a fish sandwich. The stuffed crab is with real crab meat.

The food was really good, I recommend any of the local specials, catfish with eutofette was great!! Then you can sit out back and watch the alligators, and turtles wrestle over the many marshmallows that locals feed them.

Fresh, hot fried chicken livers cooked to order. Seasoned perfectly and paired with perfectly seasoned rice dressing. The freshness of everything was spot on. This meal brought back memories of my childhood. I will definitely go back!

Bayou Delight is everything I want in a restaurant; delicious, authentic food; friendly, welcoming, unpretentious, unique to the region staff; affordable pricing; can’t be replicated location.
The shrimp, potato, and corn soup in a red sauce base is the best thing I’ve eaten recently. Tangy tomato sauce with sweet corn and new potatoes, combined with a fantastic shrimp flavor that ties together for an endlessly flavorful dish. Amazing!
Catfish acadiana, 4/5 flaky, crispy catfish fillets covered in the absolute perfect amount of creamy, rich crawfish etoufee so you still retain the crunch of the catfish, with a couple of light and airy hush puppies to dip in the etoufee. Again, delicious.
My service was welcoming, attentive, and full of personality from the second I walked through the door.
Swamp pop and zydeco play on the speakers.
There are 7′ alligators, red eared sliders and spiny softshell turtles the size of hubcaps sunning in the bayou off the back deck.
If you’re looking for a delicious, authentic, Cajun food experience, look no further. A+ all around.

First time going was last night. Food was very good. The service was very good and pleasant. And this is just me but it was a little loud but I am ok with that.

Waited over an hour for cold food and re-fried french fries. Didn’t let us know the waters were from a bottle and theres a charge. Would have gotten soft drinks had we known… Used to be a great place but the last few visits have been disappointing, this one being the worst. Also, wasn’t offered any kind of compensation for cold food. Won’t be going back or recommending to anyone anytime soon.
