I moved here less than a month ago and my family has already made this a weekend ritual. The staff already recognizes us when we walk in. We love this place. I highly recommend it. Staff is nice, Spanish and English, good lattes, clean, $5 bagel n shmear is worth the visit. “Yum!”

baygulls bakery is unreal..
i got the jalapeño cheddar bagel with veggie schmear, and honestly… it might be the perfect bagel. the texture alone stopped me in my tracks made from organic bread flour, salt, water, yeast, and barley malt syrup, it hits that rare balance of airy yet doughy with a perfectly crisp exterior!

the jalapeños tasted super fresh and were layered just right, giving the perfect kick without overpowering anything. the cheddar was that ideal combo of gooey and crispy, baked right into the crust so every bite had flavor. and the veggie schmear? actually made with real veggies, not that diluted stuff other places use. fresh, vibrant, and it paired beautifully with the heat from the bagel.

i walked out thinking, “yeah… this is what a bagel should taste like.” highly recommend!!

This was definitely a great first impression and experience from the moment I stepped in to the moment I left.

Matt (the owner) and his staff Jasper, Taliana, Valentina and Isa are on my top 3 best establishment etiquette that I’ve experienced in my life! Isa and Taliana helped take my order and explained the menu to me (a BEC NY style is a must) and the payment process was painless. Valentina prepared the sandwich and everything was just the right amount (cheese, egg, bacon, salt, pepper, ketchup). No ingredient overpowered the other; a simple bite was enough to ensure that I continue to come back (bagels were just right- not too chewy/crispy).

Now, I’m definitely not a coffee person because I feel like most coffee places tastes solely like coffee, no matter what’s in it. However, Jasper sold me on a Maple Latte with whole milk – DELICIOUS! Immediately shared my newfound obsession with my family and they were blown away by how it tasted so sweet (not bitter) while still tasting like coffee.

Matt was very friendly and our conversation of how he moved from New York to Florida to start this business is something so inspiring. I believe that his business, along with the staff’s dedication and great vibes, is going to make this dream thrive.

Saw a reel on FB about this place and my wife wanted to try these NY bagels. I met the owner who was a super nice guy with a killer beard. Very vibrant place inside and love how they display the various types of bagels. I grabbed a Salmon on the cheddar pepper bagel and also got a bacon cheddar with avocado smear. Holy cow that bagel was fantadtic and the Salmon sandwich was unreal. I highly recommend this hidden gem and wish they had one in Pinellas county side!

Let me start by saying I’m from NJ, worked in NY for years, and I know what a real New York bagel is. This place is absolutely not it and it’s honestly disgraceful that they even market themselves that way.
From the moment we walked in, the experience was off. No greeting, no welcome, nothing. I ordered an everything bagel with cream cheese and tomato, salt and pepper, they said no tomatoes,Fine. Then I asked for a pork roll, egg, and cheese and they didn’t even know what pork roll was (how are you marketing you’re from up north and do not know what a pork roll is or have it.) and started telling us about a bagel hotdog which was comical thinking it compared in anyway. That was some of the first red flags.I ordered two bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches with salt, pepper, ketchup, and mentioned we had a coupon. The cashier cut me off with an attitude and said, “Well I already rang you up so… you can use it next time.” Strange, but I let it go still trying to have hope in these bagels. We waited 10 minutes and got our order missing salt, pepper, and ketchup and the bagels weren’t even cut in half. We asked them to fix it, waited another 5 minutes, and when we finally got home we discovered they had sliced the bagels without removing the foil, leaving shards of tin foil inside. At that point, it became unacceptable. I had to drive all the way back because I refuse to pay $20 for two sandwiches with barely-cooked bacon and literal foil pieces in them.
When we went back, the owner did apologize and remake the order with a refund but by then the damage was done. It shouldn’t have happened in the first place, and it was one mistake and inconvenience after another.
Even after the remake, the bagels were bland, the bacon chewy with no flavor not two mention how little amount of bacon there was for this $9 bagel, and the only thing that added taste was the ketchup. For the outrageous prices they charge, the quality was nowhere near what’s advertised.
Bottom line: Don’t call yourself a New York bagel shop if you’re not from there and can’t live up to that standard. This was extremely underwhelming, both the food and the entire experience. Definitely not worth the money or time.

Absolutely love this new lil bagel spot. The food and service are consistently amazing and their options are endless. Smoked salmon on a toasted, open-faced everything bagel with extra caper cream cheese & a 20 oz lavender iced latte with oat milk

These are the best bagels I have had in my lifetime. They are definitely the best in the Tampa area. I love the variety that they offer. Service has always been kind and fast enough. Nice location since it is next to a coffee shop and thrift store. There is a small ledge for eating at the shop, but overall it is a grab and go place.

Boiled and never frozen in other words a REAL bagel. Great service. Clean. No tables, but have 8 seats at a bar. Also has full coffee service with house made syrups. I had the Asiago red pepper with regular cc (picture)

As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted by the many varieties of bagels to your right and a seating area to your left. The staff is very friendly and ready to answer any questions you may have. No downsides except for not having mayo and not cutting the bagels in half after adding the schmear (which they are super generous with). My girls enjoyed the bakery and asked to go again. Oh… they also have little reward cards offering a free 13th bagel after purchasing 12. They’ll hole-punch the cards after every purchase. Enjoy!!
