Bay Leaf Garden is one of the best spots for authentic Kerala food in the DFW area. Everything tasted fresh, well-spiced, and true to South Indian flavors.
The aviyal was excellent — balanced coconut flavor, perfectly cooked vegetables, and not overly heavy. The beef fry was outstanding: tender, deeply spiced, and clearly cooked with care. The chili chicken had great heat and flavor without being greasy, and the porotta was soft, flaky, and exactly how it should be — perfect for pairing with the curries and fry.
You can tell this is food made for people who actually know Kerala cuisine, not toned down or generic. Portions were solid and the flavors really stood out.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for real Kerala-style food rather than standard Indian restaurant fare. This is my go to for anytime I am craving Kerala food.

Very good authentic tasting Kerala snacks and food. We had tried pazhampori, pazham nirachadhu, parippu vada , puffs followed by porotta , egg curry , fish curry to go , chakka puzhukku and chemmeem chammandhi.all the items tasted nostalgic, the only thing I could ask for improvement was the ratio and thickness of the shredded coconut in the shrimp podi..was too big and too much. The shrimp flavor didn’t stand out , the fish curry was awesome. The jackfruit was a little on the ripe side. Overall a ‘must try again’ place.

All the kerala speciality snacks are good here except the fact that they are not served warm. Perfect for to-go but they can try serving warm for people dine there. Cost is reasonable. Banana roast, bonda is must try.
Noodles are generous portion but very oily. They can lable the snacks for the benefit of non-keralaites.
I will definitely go back for snacks.

A great spot for Kerala authentic snacks. You can see different varieties of snacks including pazhampori, parippuvada, uzhunnuvada, sukiyan, cutlet, puffs etc. I have tasted most of them, and are pretty good. Pazhampori and Parippuvada are my favorites among the lot.
Being a Mallu and Vegetarian is an unusual combo. I have tasted a variety of vegetarian dishes including curries, chakka, kappa, paneer, gobi etc. They are pretty decent. Appam and Kadala is my go to dish here, as it’s my kid’s favorite.
I’m from Plano, and hit this restaurant whenever I pass through Carrollton. The service provided is very good.

Tried Beef Biriyani recently and it was mix of ghee rice + beef curry. Beef and pork fry were having heavy masala flavor ( felt not roasted properly)

Thought of sharing my experience with Bay Leaf Garden – Carrollton so that you can decide whether to go there or not.For the first time; I took a carryout of chicken 65 and chicken biriyani from them today and it was the worst experience we ever had in our life.. The biriyani was cold and on top of that was having very odd rotten smell ( which you get from old stale food). We couldn’t even taste it since we could not even bring it near our mouth due to the stinking smell…Chicken 65 peices were hard to chew and we couldn’t eat that too. I hope this doesn’t affect my wife’s health since she is pregnant. Wonder what quality checks happen in these restaurants. On top of this, I called the restaurant and the person was very arrogant and rude to even admit this.

How can I give this place anything less than a 5 ! Amazing and friendly family run business. Sanu and his wife were very welcoming. We started off with the classic Kerala snack, Pazham Poori. It was just wow. And the we ordered beef fry and he gave us beef curry gravy along with it. Both the beef fry and the gravy was the best we have tasted in US. It was soo tender and the masala was just perfect. The prorotta that was served was soo soft and reminded me of those small roadside eateries of Kerala. Fish curry and the mallu favorite kappa. Top it off with fresh lime soda and you remember the good old days back in Kerala. This is a must visit stop for all die hard mallus visiting Dallas ! Just WOW and finally the bill came to just about 60$ !, and that’s value for Money !

Soooo good. Delicious food with big servings at reasonable prices. Chicken Manchurian (pictured) and the beef fry are some of my favorite dishes so far! If I lived closer I would eat here every day 🙂
