The god mother sandwich is really good, balanced with pickles, peppers and tomatoes. The only thing is hams are too salty. And the store is super busy so the service is not much good. They only accept cash and debit card, remember to take some cash.

Most delicious pastrami sandwich I ever had! The bread is soft and chewy. The ingredients were even throughout so you’d get everything in every bite.

Been coming here for years, the Godmother is the sandwich to get, but I feel like they are smaller than they used to be. Still a very good hogie/sub/grinder – but The Italian Store in the DC area (Arlington, VA) may have it beat. Just saying.

Absolutely crushed it. Great sandwich! This place is legendary and worth the wait. BC Deli has been around since 1925 and they’ve perfected the Italian sandwich. It’s called the Godmother and you’re going to enjoy it.

I’m originally from a place in the U.S. that takes a LOT of pride in their Italian food and sandwiches, so when I moved to LA, I was bummed that for a place with such incredible food culture, I couldn’t find a really good sandwich spot.

Worth the wait. Great italian subs with a good amount of meat. We had the prosciutto and godmother sandwich. Shout out to the sandwich artists who are working hard to prepare those orders. They definitely need a tip jar and they deserve a tip!

When you enter, there is the fresh deli counter to your right and the market to your left. If you have ordered food ahead of time, your order is on the left wall. There is a lot of already prepared food and sandwiches at various end caps of the market. Their prices are not bad for the quality. The hot sandwiches we had seemed fresher than the cold. The meatballs had great flavor, would have liked a little more sauce. Pasta salads are OK. I have had and make much better. The tiramisu is fabulous but the bread pudding g left a lot to be desired.

OK but not impressed. Main issue is balance, bread is awesome but hard to bite with full of ingredients inside, many different meats what is great but I completely don’t taste difference, all taste the same, just one layer of cheese what is almost invisible among whole taste. Cabbage doesn’t work for sure, I would like to remove it but keep the rest in a half.
