Baxter’s is one of our favorite restaurants we enjoy when we visit Sandpoint. The atmosphere is relaxed and rustic. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, all the food is fresh, quality made, and delicious. Their staff is always so friendly and attentive. Sometimes they have live music, which makes your meal experience a bit more elevated. I recommend a meal if you are in town.

Excellent original dishes. I ordered an appetizer and steak. Took one star off of food rating because it came well when I asked for medium rare. But they were quick to correct it and it was very good. I was dining by myself, and I asked to be by the window. The place was clean and organized. The bathroom was also clean. My beer had a good head and was a good temperature. Overall, I enjoyed my solo dinner.

Really great restaurant. The waitress was excellent, super friendly and knowledgeable. Their menu was high end American bar fare but wasn’t boring/typical that I see so many places. All of the dishes had really great personal touches that we both agreed really elevated it and made for a great meal. Really like that there were chicken and vegetarian substitutions for a lot of the burgers(even though neither of us are vegetarian). There was a nice vibe of everyone that came in seemed to know someone else there either a patron or worker, and they had some really chill local live jazz that was perfect for the space.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere.
They had a private even on their upper floor so wasn’t able to see that part, we sat downstairs and a large party came in and it got pretty loud but before that it was easy to have a conversation.

The meatloaf was terrible! It had the consistency of liver…very dry! The mash potatoes were like glue. I’m a connoisseur of both and have never had this experience before. The bread and broccoli were great! The dessert was terrible. The waitress was great! The atmosphere was nice, but cobwebs and flies made it less than appealing! I think we’ll stick to what we know is excellent and go to The Hydra next time. Baxter is also pricey!

I have been to Baxter’s since they opened. It was in my top 3 restaurants in Sandpoint. The last three times I have noticed a sharp decline. The chicken was very dry , the fries were cold on the last visit. The soup has changed drastically and my group was very underwhelmed . The service has always been good but she knew our displeasure and didn’t try to correct it .

Do NOT substitute for the chicken! The piece of grilled chicken in our sandwiches was tough, chewy, and flavorless with no seasoning. Very disappointing! Decor is rustic and service is friendly. Next time we will just go for dessert as the key lime pie is very good.

Very nice server. Loved they even have water outside for your pup – sure indicator of my kind of place. Zeke loved his burger too!

Enjoyed the food and quiet, off the main street atmosphere. We shared brie cheese bruschetta and a Korean ahi tuna bowl. Both were tasty, especially tuna. Huckleberry lemonades are refreshing, not crazy sweet – in a good way.
